The IT Program Manager / Scrum Master – Reporting will play a critical leadership role in enabling predictable, high‑quality delivery of enterprise reporting solutions within the Chief Data Office. This role blends strong Agile/Scrum Master capabilities with traditional program and stakeholder management skills, operating at the intersection of business, data, and technology.

 

The individual will be responsible for driving Agile execution across one or more Reporting delivery teams, ensuring adherence to Scrum and SDLC standards, managing dependencies and risks, and serving as a trusted partner to Product Owners, Data Engineering, Business, and Governance stakeholders. The role emphasizes delivery transparency, continuous improvement, and disciplined execution in a complex, regulated data environment.

Key Responsibilities

Agile & Scrum Leadership

  • Serve as Scrum Master for Reporting delivery teams, ensuring consistent and effective execution of Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, daily standups, backlog refinement, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.

  • Act as the accountable owner for Agile flow and discipline, ensuring sprint commitments are realistic, achievable, and aligned to business priorities.

  • Coach team members, Product Owners, and stakeholders on Agile principles, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and accountability.

  • Identify, track, and proactively remove impediments and blockers impacting delivery velocity or quality. 

 

Program & Delivery Management

  • Plan, track, and manage delivery of Reporting initiatives across multiple sprints and releases, ensuring alignment to roadmap commitments.

  • Manage cross‑team dependencies, risks, and escalations, partnering with IT, Data Engineering, Business, and external vendors as needed.

  • Provide clear, concise delivery status reporting, including sprint metrics, milestone progress, risks, and mitigation plans.

  • Ensure delivery adheres to enterprise SDLC, governance, and compliance standards applicable to Reporting and data products. 

 

Stakeholder & Business Partnership

  • Partner closely with Product Owners and Business stakeholders to ensure backlog readiness, well‑defined user stories, and clear acceptance criteria.

  • Facilitate alignment between business priorities and technical execution, balancing scope, timeline, and quality.

  • Act as a point of coordination between Reporting teams and adjacent CDO, IT, and Governance functions.

 

Metrics, Transparency & Continuous Improvement

  • Own and maintain Agile delivery metrics such as velocity, sprint predictability, throughput, and defect trends.

  • Use data and insights to drive continuous improvement discussions with the team and leadership.

  • Promote best practices in estimation, planning, and retrospectives to improve delivery outcomes over time. 

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, Business, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

  • 3+ years of hands‑on experience as a Scrum Master or Agile Project Manager.

  • Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum frameworks and SDLC processes in enterprise environments.

  • Proven ability to manage complex dependencies and work across cross‑functional teams (Business, Data, Engineering, QA, Governance).

  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting Reporting, Data, BI, or Analytics platforms in a regulated or data‑intensive environment.

  • Scrum Master certification (CSM, PSM I/II) and/or Project Management certification (PMP, PMI‑ACP).

  • Experience working within an enterprise data organization.

  • Familiarity with Agile tooling such as Azure DevOps, Jira, or similar platforms.

  • Familiarity with Smartsheet as a Scheduling tool.
