Position Overview

The Scrum Master (Senior) facilitates Agile delivery by leading Scrum ceremonies, coaching development teams in Scrum principles and practices, removing impediments, and promoting continuous improvement. This role fosters self-organizing, cross-functional team dynamics while improving communication and collaboration across development teams, Product Owners, stakeholders, and project leadership.

The Scrum Master (Senior) also supports project planning, risk management, stakeholder coordination, performance measurement, and delivery oversight to help ensure project objectives, timelines, quality standards, and team commitments are achieved.

Key ResponsibilitiesScrum Facilitation and Agile Coaching
  • Facilitate Scrum events, including Sprint Planning, Daily Scrum, Sprint Review, and Sprint Retrospective, ensuring ceremonies are effective and time-boxed.
  • Coach and mentor development teams on Scrum principles, practices, and values.
  • Remove impediments and roadblocks that hinder team progress.
  • Protect teams from external distractions and interruptions.
  • Foster a self-organizing and cross-functional team environment.
  • Facilitate effective communication and collaboration within teams and with stakeholders.
  • Support engagement of Product Owners and Development Teams in Scrum practices.
  • Promote continuous improvement across Agile teams.
Project Planning and Delivery
  • Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables in collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Develop project plans, including timelines, resource allocation, and budget management.
  • Manage and track project progress against established timelines and budgets.
  • Ensure project deliverables meet established quality standards.
  • Manage project changes and ensure appropriate approvals are obtained.
  • Maintain complete, accurate, and accessible project documentation.
Risk and Stakeholder Management
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks and issues.
  • Communicate project status, risks, issues, and delivery progress to stakeholders.
  • Manage stakeholder expectations and ensure stakeholder input is incorporated into project activities.
  • Coordinate and facilitate project meetings, including planning sessions, status updates, and reviews.
Metrics and Performance Management
  • Monitor and communicate team performance using metrics such as sprint burndown charts and team velocity.
  • Track and report project and team performance metrics.
  • Use performance information to identify opportunities for process and delivery improvement.
Technical Environment Support
  • Support teams operating with in-house custom-developed data pipelines.
  • Support environments using Kubernetes and Terraform.
  • Support GitLab CI/CD pipelines and JFrog Artifactory.
  • Support AWS cloud services.
  • Support application environments using Vue.js, Flask, Elixir, Phoenix LiveView, and DaisyUI.
  • Support ETL and data technologies including Python, Cribl, Apache NiFi, PostgreSQL, Apache Kafka, Splunk, and custom GOTS applications.
  • Support complex data parsing and streamlined ingestion.
  • Support provenance and end-to-end data lineage tracking.
  • Support schema-aligned ingestion and normalization of structured and unstructured data.
QualificationsExperience
  • Minimum 8 years of relevant experience. [Required]
  • Experience facilitating Scrum ceremonies and supporting Agile software development teams. [Required]
  • Experience coaching and mentoring teams in Scrum principles, practices, and values. [Required]
  • Experience managing project scope, schedules, risks, issues, stakeholders, and performance metrics. [Required]
