Position Description

As a Scrum Master II, you'll join our Data & Digital team helping us lead, design, and build our digital transformation and define what's next for our business-while working in an organization that's continuously investing in data and systems. The Data and Digital team is focused on developing innovative solutions, utilizing modern technologies, and delivering critical data, geo-spatial, and logistic capabilities to our customers

You will transform the way our Data & Digital team organizes and executes work. As a Scrum Master II, you will help coach teams and facilitate all development meetings with the business and Agile Release Train (ART) members. You'll focus on leading the development teams and product owners to deliver new functionality to the business through Agile/Scrum development concepts and principles.

Essential Job Functions

  • Lead Inexperienced Teams: A Scrum Master II takes on the responsibility of leading inexperienced teams and coaching them to a higher level of maturity, developing self-organized teams.
  • Assess Team Maturity: Assess the maturity of multiple Scrum teams and develop strategies to elevate them to higher levels of maturity.
  • Team Protection: Leverage techniques to protect Scrum Teams from outside influences to ensure the team remains focused on Scrum Team priorities.
  • Advanced Progress Tracking: Implement tracking and reporting mechanisms to provide stakeholders with a clear picture of overall team progress.
  • Strategic Improvement: Identify and recommend strategic improvements to optimize velocity, enhance efficiency, and minimize risk across multiple teams.
  • Accountability and Commitments Management: Ensure that the teams understand the value of commitments made and hold them accountable for delivering on those commitments.
  • Lead Communication: Lead internal and external communication for their Scrum Teams
  • Support Product Owner: Provide support to the Product Owner with respect to refining and maintaining the product backlog, ensuring its relevance and prioritization


  • Possesses and applies a broad knowledge of principles, best practices, and techniques to encourage, motivate, and guide individuals or teams in learning and improving effectiveness through agile coaching concepts and methods.
  • Guides teams in pursuit of operational excellence, situational awareness, conflict resolution, continual improvement, empowerment, and increasing transparency Aptitude for working in a high performing, diverse team using active communication and a strong sense of ownership applying an agile software development approach
  • Relies on experience and judgment to structure / organize work and accomplish goals
  • Embraces opportunities to broaden organizational impact
  • Strong interpersonal skills and business acumen


  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience
  • Scrum Master certification (CSM , A-CSM or CSP) or equivalent experience
  • Scaled Certification (SAFe SM) is preferred

Experience/Minimum Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience as a Scrum Master for agile team(s)
  • 2+ years of hands-on Jira knowledge and use of metrics within the tool
  • Experience applying different agile techniques to optimize the team's effectiveness.

Working Conditions: This is a remote role with the expectation of on-site/in-person collaboration with teammates and stakeholders for moments that matter and may require up to 15% travel.

For New York, Colorado, California, and Washington residents - The hiring range offered for this position is $105,000 - $125,000 annually. In addition to salary, employees are eligible for an annual bonus of up to 15% of annual salary and restricted stock. Employees (and their families) are eligible for medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Employees are able to enroll in our company's 401k plan. Employees will also receive 18 days of paid time off each year and 12 paid holidays throughout the calendar year.
