About the role

We are looking for an experienced Scope 3 Manager to join our Paper Sourcing & Procurement (PS&P) division, reporting into our PS&P Sustainability Director.

The Scope 3 Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing an organization's Scope 3 emissions, which are indirect emissions that occur in the value chain of the organization, including activities such as purchased goods and services, transportation and distribution, and waste disposal. Overall, the Scope 3 Manager plays a critical role in helping organizations understand and mitigate their indirect environmental impacts across the value chain.

Key accountabilies within the role include -

  • Developing and implementing strategies to reduce Scope 3 emissions in line with corporate sustainability goals, aligning them to corporate objectives and international standards like GHG Protocol.

  • Staying informed about regulatory requirements and industry best practices related to Scope 3 emissions management

  • Collaborating with suppliers and partners to identify opportunities for emissions reduction throughout the value chain.

  • Closely collaborate with the ESG team to establish and maintain a robust data collection and reporting system for Scope 3 emissions, as well as understand progress towards the Group’s target Scope 1, 2 and 3 reduction

  • Lead the development and execution of strategies to measure, manage, and reduce Scope 3 emissions across the organization's value chain.

  • Identifying risks associated with Scope 3 emissions, such as supply chain disruptions or regulatory changes, and developing mitigation strategies

  • Integrating Scope 3 considerations into procurement processes, supplier relationships, business operations

  • Providing guidance and support to other departments to ensure alignment with Scope 3 emissions reduction objectives.

  • Continuously monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of emissions reduction initiatives, adjusting strategies as needed to achieve targets and drive continuous improvement

About you 

  • Proven experience in a role focused on Scope 3 emissions management or supply chain sustainability.

  • In-depth understanding of Scope 3 emission categories, measurement methodologies, and relevant reporting frameworks.

  • Strong analytical skills to assess and interpret complex data related to supply chain emissions.

  • Ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external partners to drive sustainable practices throughout the value chain.

  • Familiarity with sustainability and carbon reduction initiatives in various industries.

  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills to influence stakeholders and promote sustainable practices.

  • Project management experience with a track record of successful implementation of Scope 3 reduction initiatives.

  • Bachelor's or advanced degree in environmental science, supply chain management, or a related field.
