Grow with us – Your Responsibilities
Utilise biological expertise to work with development teams and customer development partners to define the specification for new products, evaluate product concepts and test product prototypes
Plan, design and execute experiments and test procedures, analyse results and determine product effectiveness
Source and prepare materials for testing new technologies and automated systems at Sartorius, Royston
Execute biological and biochemical assays in accordance with established procedures, and contribute to the development and improvement of SOPs
Troubleshoot experimental, equipment and process issues, working with relevant teams to identify faults and implement solutions
Prepare, analyse and communicate data and reports to biological and non-biological stakeholders
Participate in product design reviews with engineering teams and provide technical feedback
Support product development trials with customer development partners, including providing training, executing witnessed acceptance testing and contributing technical support during the evaluation of early product iterations
Support the sharing of knowledge within the team through training, shadowing and collaboration on experimental activities
What will convince us
PhD or similar in relevant field of study or extensive industrial experience in bioprocess development
Experience of good aseptic laboratory technique and mammalian or microbial culture, including process development is essential gained in an industrial or academic bioprocessing laboratory
A good understanding of the bioprocessing industry. Experience in upstream bioprocessing would be advantageous, as this is the team’s primary area of focus
Strong scientific and laboratory competence, with experience designing, planning and executing experiments and delivering data-driven conclusions for review
An understanding of bioreactor operation and the ability to troubleshoot experimental issues effectively. Hands on knowledge of Ambr system operation would be advantageous
Ability to plan and prioritise project work, meet deadlines, communicate risks promptly and work collaboratively across biological and non-biological teams
Effective preparation and delivery of technical reports, manuals and presentations, with the ability to communicate findings to different audiences
A willingness to support colleagues, share knowledge and take on additional tasks to help deliver project objectives
