Sika was first established in Malaysia in 1989 and full operations commenced in 1991 through its wholly-owned subsidiary, Sika Kimia Sdn Bhd, with the completion of its local head office and production plant in Nilai, Negeri Sembilan. In the Construction sector, our business activities cover the full spectrum of project types ranging from infrastructural development to buildings, from institutional facilities to manufacturing plants. We service our direct customers – concrete producers, contractors and distributors – and stay close to them through our central sales & marketing office in Petaling Jaya and a network of sales offices in Penang, Johor Bahru, Kuantan, Kuching and Kota Kinabalu. In Malaysia, our Industry Division is the clear market leader in the automotive glass replacement sector (AGR) and the “Sikaflex” brand is instantly recognized as a mark for quality, reliability and performance. In the automotive OEM sector, we are the approved supplier to top German car markets such as Mercedes Benz and BMW. Meanwhile, Sika leads the field in total bonding, sealing, damping, reinforcing and protection solutions for bus, truck and rail vehicle manufacturing, and for the assembly of appliances, industrial equipment and building components.

Sika Kimia Sdn Bhd currently employs more than 340 people in Sales & Marketing, Technical Service, Finance, HR & Administration, Laboratory, Production, Purchasing, Customer Service and Warehouse.

Job Description

• Coordinate with R&D manager on R&D studies / experiments of cementitious products in the offshore and renewal energy segments.
• Develop new products and improvements of the existing products (formulation and processing requirement). Optimize cost of current products.
• Assist in external product certification audit programs.
• Coordinator for external client visits for product inspection and test witnessing.
• Site support in offshore / onshore projects on ad hoc basis.
• Increase the SCM replacements in powder in line with Strategy 2028.
• Trouble shoot powder products production/raw material issues.
• Close Coordination with Regional R&D teams on products development.
• Maintain and update knowledge of raw materials for Additives for Mortar and their function.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Reporting Officer or Company Management from time to time

Qualifications

• Technical diploma holders and above
• Possess technical knowledge from civil & structural engineering / material science / chemistry background is a strong plus point

Additional Information

• Experienced with cement-based materials formulation and development, especially on UHPC (ultra-high performance concrete/cement-based material) for structural applications.
• Strong computer skills and knowledge of MS office applications, such as Word and Excel
• Good analytical skills
• At least 3 years’ relevant experience
• Well verse in English – written and spoken
• Ability to work independently and proactively
• Well verse in different languages will be added advantage
