About The Role
As a Proteomics Scientist in our Experimental and Analytical Proteomics team, you will oversee the design and execution of proteomics experiments in disease-relevant cell models to support drug discovery programs and advance our technology platform. The aim of this work will be to elucidate drug mechanisms, discover biomarkers, identify/validate novel drug targets using state-of-the-art instruments, and innovative methods. This Scientist will participate actively on drug discovery teams to maximize the impact of the platform and help accelerate decision making.
About You
You are excited about applying the latest methods in proteomics to drug discovery and thrive in a multidisciplinary environment. You have hands-on experience with proteomics-based techniques and experience in using proteomics data to explore disease-related human biology. You enjoy developing new methods and excel in fast-paced settings where pushing the boundaries of what is possible is the norm.
What You'll Do and Learn
- Utilize technical expertise and problem-solving skills to generate insightful data and serve as a subject matter expert in proteomics techniques.
- Design and perform interactome, phospho-proteomics, and proximity labeling experiments to identify biomarkers or elucidate drug mechanisms.
- Use primary cell types or patient samples to develop relevant cell models and apply these models to inform lead-molecule analysis.
- Interpret and present scientific findings at research meetings, provide scientific input, and propose follow-up experiments.
- Collaborate and communicate effectively with diverse technology development and drug discovery research teams to achieve scientific goals.
- Identify and implement emerging proteomics methods and technologies within the company, demonstrating their value for drug discovery.
- Contribute to scientific publications, patents, and presentations to disseminate research findings both internally and externally.
Minimum Qualifications
- Ph.D. in proteomics, molecular biology, immunology, or related fields. Alternatively, B.S/M.S. candidates with at least 10 years of relevant academic/industry experience post-grad will be considered.
- Experience in proteomics sample preparation techniques such as immunoprecipitation, proximity labeling, phospho-peptide enrichment, and familiarity with data analysis pipelines.
- Proficiency in proteomics software for data acquisition, processing, and statistical analysis, including tools like Skyline, Comet, Peaks, MaxQuant, and MSstats.
- Familiarity with complex data analysis software such as R or Python.
- Strong ability to work effectively within a collaborative, multidisciplinary team environment, promoting cooperation and knowledge sharing among team members.
Preferred Qualifications
- Develop and automate proteomics sample preparation methods.
- Conduct research in areas such as immunology, oncology, or fibrosis.
- Possess experience with complex cell models or primary immune cells.
Compensation
The specific compensation package for this role depends on experience, qualifications and level. We anticipate the compensation range to be $94,000 to $136,000 per year.
