Job Purpose Summary: Scientist, Product Development, Freestyle
Located in Atlanta, the Global Development and Innovation (GDI) center is pivotal to The Coca‐Cola Company's innovation in beverages across multiple categories (sparkling, teas, coffee etc) and covering, product development, packaging & equipment development. As a Product Developer, you will lead (under supervision of your manager) projects across various categories, contributing to our portfolio’s growth by developing new or enhancing existing Freestyle beverages. This role offers a unique blend of local and global impact, demanding technical knowledge, creativity, and an eye for future trends as well as strong digital expertise and collaboration skills to leverage Coca-Cola global network of expertise.
Key Responsibilities:
- Cross-Functional Team Collaboration: Work within teams including Regulatory Affairs, Quality, Global SMEs, Marketing, Freestyle Innovation Center, and Engineering to deliver product enhancements and innovations.
- Project Execution: Execute new recipe development and adaptations, ensuring projects meet quality, timing, and budget targets while incorporating sustainability, regulatory requirements, and consumer preferences.
- Innovation and Prototyping: Coordinate lab-scale prototypes, conduct analytical and sensory tests, and facilitate pilot-scale productions. Use statistical methods and digital tools to enhance product development efficiency.
- Communication and Collaboration: Share project outcomes, insights, and data with cross-functional teams, effectively bridging technical recommendations with strategic business objectives.
- System and Market Understanding: Understand Coca-Cola’s system dynamics and translate trends and the science of taste into compelling product propositions.
- Sustainability and Technology Integration: Integrate sustainability principles and leverage digital tools early in the development process to map impacts and accelerate innovation.
- Risk Management and Market Awareness: Stay informed about emerging risks related to ingredient selection and product design, and maintain awareness of competitor strategies and market trends to inform product development and innovation.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Bachelor's, Master’s, or Post-Graduate degree in food science, chemistry, or related field.
- Fluent in English, with proficiency in an additional language preferred.
- Willing to travel up to 20% annually.

Pay Range:
$86,200 - $107,000
Base pay offered may vary depending on geography, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. A full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position, is offered.
