The School Crossing Aide supports the daily flow of pedestrian movement near designated school crossing areas, assisting school-aged children and families as they navigate to and from school. This role maintains a visible and approachable presence during assigned times, helping to guide crossing activity in an organized and consistent manner while representing the community in a positive and professional way.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Mobility: Requires the ability to stand, walk, and move within designated crossing areas for extended periods of time, including navigating curbs, sidewalks, and roadways

Working conditions: Requires working outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat, humidity, sun exposure, wind, and rain, as well as near active roadways during peak traffic times

Personal protective gear: Requires the use of standard visibility equipment, such as reflective vests and handheld signage, to support clear visibility and communication in designated areas

Manual Dexterity: Requires the use of hands and arms to hold and operate basic equipment (e.g., handheld signs or communication devices) and perform simple, repetitive motions during assigned duties

Driving: Ability to operate a vehicle to perform certain job functions. (Please note: We will request and review an MVR at the time of hire and on a periodic basis thereafter to ensure that employees maintain a satisfactory driving status.)
