Position: Before & After School Program Supervisor
Location: Wyomissing Hills Elementary Center

Pay Rate: $19 per hour

Overview:
The Reading YMCA is seeking a motivated and experienced professional to lead our Before and After School Program. Reporting to the Childcare Center Director, the Site Supervisor will oversee daily operations, supervise staff, and ensure the delivery of high-quality, engaging programs for children in our community. This is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on youth development while advancing the mission of the YMCA.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and support a team of 4–8 program staff, fostering professional growth and accountability.

  • Maintain accurate participant and staff documentation.

  • Coordinate program hours, staffing schedules, and daily operations.

  • Promote the program within the community to increase participation.

  • Assist in the development of additional middle school programs, special events, and fundraising initiatives.

  • Stay informed on current and emerging trends in middle school programming.

  • Represent the YMCA and its mission, ensuring alignment with organizational values and programs.

Qualifications

Candidates must meet one of the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Special Education, Elementary Education, or a related human services field.

  • Bachelor’s degree with 30 credit hours in the above fields plus 1 year of experience working with children.

  • Associate degree in the above fields plus 2 years of experience working with children.

  • Associate degree with 30 credit hours in the above fields plus 3 years of experience working with children.

Qualifications:

  • Successful completion of criminal history and child abuse background checks.

  • Urine drug screening.

  • Strong administrative, supervisory, and organizational skills.

  • Marketing, communication, and social skills for community engagement.

  • Completion of three hours of risk management training.

  • Current American Red Cross CPR & First Aid certifications.

  • Experience in recruiting, directing, and managing staff and volunteers.

  • Ability to oversee facilities, equipment, programs, and schedules effectively.

  • Understanding of YMCA’s local, national, and global mission.

Skills Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Special Education, Elementary Education, or related human services field OR Bachelor's with 30 credit hours in above fields plus 1 year experience OR Associate degree in above fields plus 2 years experience OR Associate degree with 30 credit hours plus 3 years experience.
