PAY: $17.00 - $18.00 per hour

SCHEDULE: Follows the school calendar

Morning Program: 7:30 - 8:30 am

Afternoon Program: 3:15 - 6:15 pm

Opportunities may be available for morning, afternoon, or both programs.

Healthy Kids Programs is hiring a School Age Childcare Assistant Site Director for our Before and After School Programs at our Frelinghuysen Elementary School in Newton, NJ location for the 2026–2027 school year.

  • Compliance: The site operates in ratio at all times; records are accurate and current; the program is ready for inspection on any given day
  • Inventory: The site is well-stocked with the supplies and materials teachers need; nothing runs out mid-week; restocking happens before it becomes a problem

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; some college or early childhood coursework preferred
  • 1–3 years of experience working with children in a school, childcare, camp, or youth program setting
  • Some experience in a lead or supervisory role preferred
  • Familiarity with before- and after-school program environments a plus
  • Knowledge of state childcare licensing or school-age care regulations helpful but not required
  • Calm, flexible, and resourceful in a fast-paced environment.
  • Able to pass required background and fingerprint clearances.
