Job Summary:
Schedules appointments from incoming phone calls in high volume call center format. Processes all necessary registration information and educate patient families of their financial obligations.
Essential Functions:

  • Schedules appointments via incoming telephone calls per Central Scheduling protocols and facilitate intake process for appropriate triage utilizing CHW technology.
  • Provide pre-registration support for scheduled services per department guidelines.
  • Discusses potential financial obligations with parent.
  • Educates parent guardian or patient on managed care process and required authorization needed per CHW policies and managed care contractors. Updates insurance information for accuracy and verifies current/ future eligibility
  • Place outbound calls to patient families to schedule and register appointment via work lists found in work queues.

Education:

  • High School graduate or Certificate of General Educational Development (GED) or High School Equivalency Diploma (HSED) required

Experience:

  • 1+ years Customer service experience required
  • Experience in registration and/or scheduling preferred
  • Epic experience preferred
  • Call center experience preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Requires excellent communication and interpersonal skills in order to serve a variety of people in a fast paced call center environment
  • Ability to make decisions based on established clinic protocols preferred.
  • Excellent organization and prioritizing skills necessary to work in a fast paced multi-functioned department preferred.
  • Proficient data entry skills with accuracy and speed
