We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Scheduling Coordinator to join our team. The Scheduling Coordinator is responsible for creating and maintaining staffing schedules for nursing and support staff to ensure adequate coverage while meeting resident care needs and maintaining compliance with staffing requirements. This role requires excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare, maintain, and update daily, weekly, and monthly staff schedules.
- Coordinate staffing to ensure appropriate coverage for all shifts.
- Manage schedule changes due to call-offs, vacations, leaves of absence, and emergencies.
- Contact available staff to fill open shifts and minimize overtime whenever possible.
- Maintain accurate attendance and scheduling records.
- Collaborate with department managers to address staffing needs and ensure compliance with staffing regulations.
- Monitor overtime and labor costs and provide reports as requested.
- Communicate schedule updates promptly to employees and supervisors.
- Assist with payroll preparation by verifying attendance and timekeeping records.
- Perform other administrative duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or GED required; associate degree preferred.
- Previous scheduling or staffing experience, preferably in a healthcare or long-term care setting.
- CENA Certification preferred.
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office and scheduling/payroll software.
- Excellent organizational, multitasking, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and maintain confidentiality.
- Knowledge of healthcare staffing requirements and labor regulations is preferred.
