Job Summary
Scheduling Coordinator will schedule appointments and diagnostic tests/procedures for all patients at
Baptist Health Cardiovascular/ Vascular Services. These may include, but are not limited to: follow-up
appointments, physician consultations, hospital follow-up appointments and diagnostic tests/ hospital
procedures. The Scheduling Coordinator will obtain any required registration, insurance coverage
information, referrals and / or pre-certifications from insurance carriers needed. The Scheduling
Coordinator will confirm patients’ diagnostic appointments, and any scheduled hospital procedures,
updates and maintains hospital cards, updates providers with information, and faxes and/or
communicates medical information as needed. Scheduling Coordinators are also responsible for
verifying accuracy of the diagnostic testing and hospital procedure schedules in the electronic
scheduling system.
Minimum Education, Training and Experience Required:
High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
One to three years clerical experience in a physician office preferred.
Computer knowledge such as Medical Office and Scheduling Applications preferred.
