Answer incoming calls, schedule patient appointments, handle reminder and clinical contact calls, assist with Medicaid renewals, maintain switchboard and extension lists, and provide customer-friendly service in Spanish and English.

Performs general clerical and scheduling duties, while providing convenient, customer-friendly access and service. The Scheduler will provide and assist patients with appointment requests, clinical contact and reminder calls for services at Samuel U. Rodgers Health Center (SURHC).
- Answers all incoming calls and relay the caller to the appropriate department or person. Take messages if necessary. Transfer internal station calls as requested by the party. Pages staff as requested.
- Takes phones off answering service by 8:00 am each day. Close switchboard at the end of the day and connect board with the answering service.
- Announces emergencies over the loud speaker using a clam voice and keeping composure.
- Keeps an updated list of all telephone extensions.
- Answers caller questions about center hours, departments, special events and services available.
- Assists other department with special projects that does not require leaving the area.
- Assists patients with renewal of Temporary Medicaid insurance as needed.
- Performs other duties as requested by supervisor.
- The operator must possess have a friendly, pleasant voice and maintain a high level of professionalism at all times.
- Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills in both English and at least one other foreign language.

QUALIFICATIONS
- Basic reading, writing, and math skills are required.
- Must possess excellent interpersonal skills and excellent telephone etiquette.
- Must be able to deal effectively over the phone with a diverse culture.
- Computer literate with the ability to learn call center software applications.
- Duties require professional verbal and written communication skills.
- Must be bilingual-Spanish!
Education
· High School Diploma of GED
