Position Summary:
MLU is looking for a Scheduler who will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and managing the schedules of various activities, resources, or employees to ensure that tasks are completed efficiently and on time. The position requires excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to adapt to shifting priorities and challenges. Effective communication, planning, and problem-solving are key aspects of the role.
Job Duties and Responsibilities include:
- Develop and manage detailed schedules for employees, projects, or events.
- Allocate resources effectively, ensuring that all tasks are completed in a timely manner.
- Adjust schedules as needed in response to changes, delays, or unforeseen issues.
- Coordinate with various teams, departments, or external partners to ensure that schedules align with project or operational needs.
- Communicate schedule updates, changes, and reminders to all stakeholders.
- Act as the point of contact for scheduling-related inquiries.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of schedules, appointments, and activities.
- Identify scheduling conflicts and proactively resolve them to avoid disruptions.
- Ensure that all scheduled activities comply with organizational policies, safety guidelines, or legal regulations, as applicable.
- Monitor work hours and employee availability, ensuring compliance with labor laws or union agreements.
Skills and Competencies:
- Proven experience as a scheduler or in a related administrative role.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
Work Location and Travel:
- Baton Rouge, LA
- Travel estimated at 25%.
Required Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or GED certificate; associate degree or vocational certification (preferred)
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word and Excel;
- Must be able to create spreadsheets in Excel.
