JOB SUMMARY

ONEOK is looking for a Scheduler - Crude Blending to support the management and execution of the company's crude oil blending program. This role will leverage the ability to coordinate and collaborate across stakeholder groups to ensure the success of the program. There will be many opportunities to streamline processes and drive incremental value. An emphasis on creative problem solving and fostering strong internal relationships is desired.

Job Profile Summary


Independently ensures execution of blending operation for the company's crude oil blending program. Partners with other departments (Field Operations, Scheduling, Inventory Management, MAS, Accounting and Quality Control) to optimize ONEOK’s crude oil blending program.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Optimize mainline pump schedules and batch volatility data in multiple data application systems to identify locations where optimization opportunities exist

  • Evaluate and optimize downstream demand/schedules and crude oil inventories at multiple locations

  • Develop, communicate and coordinate execution of the most effective multi-layered blendstock transportation and delivery schedule. This involves remaining on call 24/7 to respond in an expedited manner to disruptions caused by mainline schedule changes, field operations emergencies, carrier delays, and supply disruptions

  • Work in a cooperative team setting with other departments (Field Operations, Crude Scheduling/Inventory, MAS and Quality Control) to optimize operations conducted across different crude terminals

  • Track blendstock consumption and forecast demand to ensure operations are not disrupted by supply constraints

  • Calculate blendstock volumes as needed

  • Monitor and track any lost margin capture opportunities

  • Ensure that all compliance and regulatory specifications are being met for crude oil blendstocks or finished crude oil

  • Coordinate with Crude Scheduling and Quality Control any corrections to adapt the crude oil blending operations schedule to changing conditions, and coordinate field operations and blendstock suppliers to minimize lost blending opportunities

  • Through utilization of data from internal applications and other sources, report blendstock volumes geographically on a frequent basis in support of commodities sales and hedging operations

  • Prepares reports to provide management with performance monitoring

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in engineering, business administration, or accounting with job related experience or equivalent formal education to include a combination of courses such as accounting, business law, business communications, algebra, basic statistics, or speech and the following job related knowledge or experience

Work Experience

  • Experience and thorough knowledge of nomination and scheduling of crude oil volumes on a pipeline system

  • Experience analyzing and resolving issues and/or questions concerning scheduling, nominations, balancing, and allocations

  • Experience in use and function of office equipment including mainframe applications and microcomputers and applicable software

  • Experience and/or training related to:

    • Crude oil scheduling

    • Crude oil purchasing

    • Crude oil accounting

    • Transportation services

    •  Volume control

    • Customer service

    • Pipeline Tariffs

    • Crude oil Distribution (as specified by position)

  • Experience reading and interpreting applicable contracts, agreements, reports, statements, invoices, confirmations, correspondence, tariffs, government regulations, industry standards, electronic bulletin board communications, and company policies and procedures.

  • Experience composing and preparing balancing reports, volume summaries, confirmations, reports, pipeline postings, storage reports, and electronic bulletin board communications.

  • Experience analyzing information, conducting meetings, and making presentations.

  • Ability to: apply basic math, algebra, and statistics

  • Ability to: communicate and/or exchange written and verbal information or instructions
