Your Focus
As Scent Design Associate, you will be responsible for driving multiple local / regional projects simultaneously. You will support the Scent Design Manager to execute priorities aligned to business strategy. In addition, you will be responsible for mentoring and developing a trainee to support knowledge sharing and provide insight on the business metrics / processes which enables the trainee to begin understanding projects.
The role is Mumbai, India based and will report to the Senior Scent Design Manager.
How you will Contribute
Learn how olfactive strategies are developed and how to communicate and drive strategy by partnering with key internal customers and stakeholders as well as support the implementation of the olfactive strategy in multiple small or local commercial projects.
Support perfumers to develop winning successful fragrances, incoming briefs to ensure timeline and budget requirements are met and participate in evaluations to leverage insight.
Support Senior Scent Design Manager/Scent Design Manager (Senior SDM/SDM) for all assigned projects and day to day activities.
Learn evaluation protocol and best practices.
Organize and prepare applications samples for evaluation purpose.
Organize & prepare evaluation to assess fragrances hedonics and performance using specific protocol.
Write up all the evaluation report in a clear and concise way.
Develop a good knowledge of olfactive, market and consumer understanding in the region.
Support SDM to work with key accounts in daily administrative task.
Assist SDM to update market overview, trends etc.
Organize smelling session for new product in the market.
Develop understanding the assigned market knowledge and consumer thoroughly.
Building relationship with internal team including key stakeholders (Commercial, Consumer Insight, Marketing, Technical, Labs etc).
Evaluation Coordination
Organize evaluations or support evaluation preparation group (if required).
Organize / coordinate internal fragrance evaluation by both expert and non-expert panels.
Analyze and generate report and graph of the evaluation results.
To do the triangle test evaluation and report the conclusion.
What you will need to be successful
Master’s or Bachelor degree in Chemistry, Fragrance, Marketing, Business or any other relevant discipline.
Minimum 2-5 years of experience in fragrance development / evaluation.
Excellent olfactive capabilities.
Creative and able to come up with new ideas which are easy to implement.
Well versed with Microsoft applications (Presentation, Excel).
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong project management skills, able to think independently.
Should be a team player, open minded, positive attitude, embraces diversity.
Experience working on cross categories is an advantage.
Knowing personal strength, weakness, Opportunities and limits.
