Lutheran Services Carolinas (LSC) is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Day Services Clinician to support youth in our Clinton, SC program. This role provides critical clinical services to children experiencing emotional and behavioral challenges, helping them build stability, develop coping skills, and move toward healthier outcomes.
As part of LSC’s Day Services for Youth program, the clinician plays a key role in delivering trauma-informed care through assessments, counseling, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams. This position is ideal for a clinician who is passionate about making a meaningful impact in the lives of vulnerable youth and helping them grow in a safe, supportive environment
Must be able to commute to Clinton, SC.
Essential Functions:
- Provide individual and group counseling using evidenced based interventions and practices.
- Assist in crisis de-escalation/resolution and debrief situations after incidents.
- Contribute, collaborate, and participate in child and family team meetings as requested by DSS.
- Contribute, collaborate, and participate in Day Services Team meetings.
- Maintain progress notes and therapy notes in Kaleidacare database in a timely manner.
- Complete Assessments and assist in making referrals to appropriate services, as needed.
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive client and agency information.
- Abide by licensing board requirements.
- Adhere to all federal, state, and LSC policies and procedures.
- Knowledge of area resources for referrals as needed by youth.
- Complete the minimum requirements for continuing education each year.
Qualifications
Education: Master’s degree in counseling, social work or related human service field. Licensure preferred (LMSW, LISW, LPC, LMFT) preferred, provisionally licensed required.
Experience: Three years clinical experience as a therapist.
Specific skills/abilities: (1)Training or experience in treating individuals; (2) Knowledge and experience in treating traumatized persons; (3) Awareness and sensitivity to the service population’s cultural and socioeconomic characteristics; (4) Knowledge of mental health diagnoses and experience diagnosing especially with children and adolescents; (5) knowledge of psychotropic medications; ((6) Knowledge of drug and alcohol related issues (7) Knowledge of sex trafficking issues (8)Strong oral and written communication skills; (9) must excel in multi-tasking and ability to communicate effectively with all groups of people.
Specialized knowledge, licenses, etc: Licensed or Certified by state in a therapy related discipline (or in the process of becoming certified or licensed)
