Job Purpose: The Regional Safety Head is responsible for deploying and overseeing the EHS (Environmental, Health, and Safety) strategy across projects within a specified region. This role involves collaborating with the Business EHS function to evolve the Annual Strategic Action Plan (STRAP), developing EHS goals, and ensuring the implementation of EHS initiatives. The Lead - Regional EHS will manage the planning and acquisition of EHS resources, guide internal and external stakeholders, and ensure compliance with safety protocols across projects and contractors.
ResponsibilitiesRegional Safety Lead
Strategic Planning & Deployment:
Collaborate with the Business EHS function to evolve the Annual Strategic Action Plan (STRAP), EHS goals, and initiatives for the Realty BU.
Undertake micro-planning for deployment of STRAP, goals, and initiatives within the respective region.
Lead the planning and acquisition of EHS resources for the region, ensuring their capacity building in line with strategic needs.
Contractor Safety Management:
Work with FCA, SCA, T&C, and the Business EHS function to ensure the selection and onboarding of safety-conscious contractors.
Guide, counsel, and facilitate internal and external stakeholders on all EHS matters.
Review, approve, and add value to contractors' EHS submissions (EHS Plan, Emergency Management Plan, etc.) in coordination with the Project Manager and Project EHS Lead.
Assist in enforcing EHS protocols and the conditions of contracts on projects and contractors.
Lead the Contractor Safety Management (CSM) process, including prequalification of contractors, conducting kick-off meetings, contractor training, and safety evaluations.
Assist in the online evaluation, qualification, and approval of contractors with BSH.
EHS Compliance & Safety Governance:
Ensure the implementation of CVF Wave I, II, and III as applicable to Adani Realty projects.
Ensure timely preparation and submission of MIS as per established processes.
Oversee the compliance of safety standards, regulations, and best practices across projects, ensuring a safe working environment for staff and contractors.
Provide necessary guidance to staff and contractors in removing unsafe conditions and preventing unsafe actions.
Organize and facilitate Regional Safety Committee meetings with the BU Head.
Incident & Audit Management:
Ensure proper investigation, reporting, and implementation of preventive measures for incidents, focusing on high-risk categories (Cat 4 & 5).
Assist projects with HIRAC/JSA (Hazard Identification Risk Assessment/Job Safety Analysis) and its implementation across sites.
Conduct comprehensive EHS audits and inspections of project sites and workers’ camps, advising on actions for improvement and prevention.
Monitor and report on EHS performance across projects and advise on corrective actions for any discrepancies.
Award Participation & EHS Initiatives:
Facilitate the preparation of applications for national and international safety awards, encouraging and guiding projects and contractors to participate.
Deploy and maintain IMS (Environmental Management System - ISO 14001 & Occupational Health and Safety Management System - ISO 45001) in the region as per Adani Realty's standards.
Training & Development:
Build and enhance the EHS management capacity of internal and external stakeholders.
Plan and deliver training programs for project teams, EHS teams, and contractors, addressing specific needs identified across projects.
Facilitate and ensure that the project teams and contractors complete the required training and any mandatory safety courses as per the schedule.
Budgeting & Resource Management:
Prepare the budget for EHS events, interventions, and safety awards participation, seeking approval from the BU Head.
Ensure the timely and efficient allocation of resources for EHS initiatives and budgeted activities in the region.
Stakeholder Coordination:
Act as a liaison between the project teams, contractors, and the Business Safety Head (BSH), providing regular feedback, updates, and seeking guidance where required.
Facilitate the functioning of the Business Safety Council (BSC), Business Task Forces (BTFs), Regional Safety Committee (RSC), and Project Safety Committee (PSC), ensuring their proper coordination and timely action.

Qualifications
Educational Qualification:
Bachelor of Engineering (B.E. or B.Sc.) / Diploma in Engineering (Mechanical/Civil/Electrical) or Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.)
Advance Diploma in Industrial Safety (ADIS) approved by Board of Technical Education and NEBOSH Certification. In lieu of ADIS, ADIS equivalent qualifications such as NEBOSH Diploma.
Certification Course in Environment, Environment Management, Environment Management System (ISO 14001, ISO 45001), ESG, EHS Audit.
Work Experience (Range of years):
15-18 Years
Preferred Industry:
Experience in EHS, with at least 10-12 years in building construction works, including high-rise buildings, extensive townships, mixed-use developments (commercial, retail, malls, hotels), and infrastructure projects.
Skills Required
- Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) / B.Sc. or Diploma in Engineering (Mechanical/Civil/Electrical) or Bachelor of Science
- Advance Diploma in Industrial Safety (ADIS) approved by BTE or NEBOSH Certification / NEBOSH Diploma
- Certification in Environment Management / ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 / ESG / EHS Audit
- 15-18 years total work experience
- 10-12 years experience in building construction works (high-rise, townships, mixed-use developments) preferred
