CACI, INC. has been awarded a new contract charged with the providing a mission-critical SAP S/4HANA solution supporting transportation and logistics operations for the Department of Defense. The CACI team will manage the planning, procurement, fulfillment, financials, application development, and technical operations—including Security, GRC, and Identity & Access Management—within the Joint Transportation Management System (JTMS) environment. The JTMS solution is foundational to the DoD mission, enabling the fielding and sustainment of transportation, logistics, and financial operations.
CACI is looking for a top-notch SAP Transportation Management Solution Architect to be responsible for architecting, defining, and implementing SAP Transportation Management across the JTMS landscape. The SAP S/4HANA Transportation Management (TM) Solution Architect will serve as the technical and functional authority for the design, integration, and implementation of SAP TM within the Joint Transportation Management System (JTMS). This role requires deep expertise in SAP S/4HANA TM and prior experience supporting USTRANSCOM (USTC) transportation operations, systems, or programs.
This solution architect will ensure SAP TM capabilities align with DoD transportation doctrine, regulatory requirements (DTR, DoD FMR), and Clean Core principles while supporting complex integrations across DoD and commercial transportation ecosystems.
Responsibilities:
Architecture & Solution Design
Lead end-to-end SAP S/4HANA TM solution design for JTMS.
Design scalable, compliant TM solutions supporting freight orders, forwarding orders, transportation planning, execution, settlement, and visibility.
Ensure adherence to SAP Clean Core principles and DoD architectural standards.
USTC / DoD Transportation Alignment
Translate USTRANSCOM operational requirements, LOOs, and ITFRs into SAP TM designs.
Ensure alignment with the Defense Transportation Regulation (DTR) and DoD transportation business rules.
Support organic and commercial transportation use cases (air, surface, sea, convoy, multimodal).
Integration & Interoperability
Architect integrations between SAP TM and external systems, including:
USTRANSCOM systems (e.g., GDSS, IGC, IBS, CMOS, GATES, ICODES, etc. as applicable)
Financial systems (FI, FM, Treasury, G-Invoicing)
External logistics providers and EDI (214/210/990, etc.)
Define interface patterns using APIs, middleware, and event-driven architectures.
Governance & Decision Support
Author and review Key Decision Documents (KDDs), architecture artifacts, and design justifications.
Support ATO/RMF activities by contributing technical architecture inputs and security-relevant design decisions.
Advise government stakeholders on SAP TM standard vs. extension decisions.
Leadership & Collaboration
Act as the SAP TM SME for government and SI teams.
Lead design workshops with functional, technical, and operational SMEs.
Mentor functional analysts and developers on SAP TM best practices.

Qualifications:
Required:
Secret security clearance or US citizen eligible to obtain Secret clearance upon hire
Bachelor's degree in relevant field of study (additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of bachelor's degree)
15+ years of SAP experience with 10+ years in SAP Transportation Management
Hands-on experience with SAP S/4HANA TM (not ECC-only)
Strong knowledge of:
Freight Orders / Forwarding Orders
Planning & Execution
Charge Calculation & Settlement
Event Management & Visibility
TM integration with FI/FM
USTC / DoD Experience
Prior experience supporting USTRANSCOM transportation systems, programs, or operations
Familiarity with:
Defense Transportation Regulation (DTR)
ITFR and DoD transportation business processes
Organic vs. commercial transportation models
Unit deployment / redeployment
Experience mapping DoD transportation requirements to SAP TM or similar COTS platforms
Integration & Architecture
Experience with DoD EDI standards (DTEB preferred)
Knowledge of SAP integration patterns (APIs, middleware, event-driven)
Ability to design solutions across SaaS, PaaS, and hybrid environments (IL5 preferred)
Desired:
Prior experience on JTMS or similar DoD logistics modernization programs
Experience with SAP NS2 or IL5-hosted SAP environments
Familiarity with g-Invoicing and DoD reimbursable transportation flows
Experience authoring or supporting:
KDDs / ADRs
ATO / RMF technical artifacts
SAP TM certification
Experience working on Federal or DoD SAP programs
Technical degree with relevant field experience
Experience with tools such as ServiceNow, MS SharePoint, gCTS, Avantra, or DoD enterprise IdAM systems

The proposed salary range for this position is:
