Job Description:
SAP Technical Consultant (SAP BTP & S/4HANA Public Cloud) will design, build, and deploy cloud applications and
integrations on SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) and SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud. The role focuses on clean core
aligned extension development, modern cloud-native engineering practices, and end-to-end automation using CI/CD to enable
reliable, repeatable delivery. The consultant will work across SAP and non-SAP landscapes, leveraging BTP services to deliver
secure, scalable solutions.
Key responsibilities:
• Design and develop extensions on SAP BTP (Cloud Foundry) using CAP and SAP HANA Cloud.
• Build clean core–compliant extensions for SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud (side-by-side / in-app as applicable) with
strong governance around extensibility.
• Model and implement data structures and services using CDS and expose/consume APIs (OData/REST).
• Integrate SAP and third-party systems using SAP Integration Suite, Event Mesh, destinations, and APIs.
• Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate build, test, and deployment workflows across environments.
• Apply security best practices: authentication/authorization, secure coding, and identity lifecycle management using
IAS/IPS.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize applications for performance, reliability, and scalability using SAP BTP tooling.
Required technical skills:
• Strong hands-on experience with build automation and DevOps practices in SAP/cloud environments.
• Deep expertise in SAP BTP services, including Cloud Foundry, CAP, and SAP HANA Cloud.
• Proven experience with clean core development principles for SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud.
• Strong CDS modeling skills.
• Proficiency in Node.js/JavaScript (preferred) or Python for cloud application development on BTP.
• Experience with SAP Fiori/UI5 and integration with backend services via OData and REST.
• Experience connecting CAP applications with SAP S/4HANA, SAP HANA Cloud, and third-party systems using
destinations and APIs.
• Working knowledge of SAP Integration Suite and Event Mesh; Groovy scripting experience for complex integration
scenarios.
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD tooling (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, or SAP CI/CD services).
• Familiarity with cloud-native development concepts (12-factor apps, configuration via environment, stateless
services, scaling patterns).
Additional skills:
• Strong understanding of microservices architecture and API design (REST/OData).
• Proficiency with Git-based workflows and version control practices.
• Strong problem-solving, debugging, and root-cause analysis skills.
• Ability to proactively monitor and improve system performance and operational stability.
