Configure and maintain SAP PP settings (MRP, BOMs, work centers, routings, production versions, order types, planning strategies).
Handle day-to-day support issues, investigate root causes, and provide timely resolutions.
Perform system testing (unit, integration, UAT) for PP-related changes and projects.
Analyze existing production and planning processes and identify improvement opportunities.
Gather and document business requirements, design process flows, and propose SAP-based solutions.
Align PP processes with best practices and company policies.
Lead or participate in SAP projects (implementations, rollouts, upgrades, and enhancements).
Prepare functional specifications for developments (reports, interfaces, forms, user exits, enhancements).
Coordinate with ABAP/development teams and other SAP module consultants (MM, SD, QM, CO) to deliver integrated solutions.
Support and govern PP master data (BOMs, routings, work centers, production versions, planning parameters).
Ensure proper integration with MM (materials, purchasing), SD (sales forecasts, customer orders), QM (inspection), and CO (costing).
Monitor MRP runs, resolve exceptions, and support planners in their daily activities.
Prepare user guides, process documentation, and training materials for PP-related processes.
Conduct training and knowledge-transfer sessions for key users and end users.
Act as subject-matter expert (SME) for SAP PP in cross-functional meetings.
Ensure adherence to IT/SAP change management procedures.
Support audit and compliance requirements related to production and inventory processes.
Maintain data quality and consistency in SAP PP and related modules.
RequirementsEducation
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Information Systems, Business Administration, or related field.
Typically 5+ years hands-on experience with SAP PP in implementation and/or support roles.
Strong experience in discrete manufacturing / process manufacturing / your specific industry (customize as needed).
Participation in at least one full-cycle SAP implementation is a strong plus.
Deep knowledge of core SAP PP components:
Demand Management & Planning Strategies
MRP (classic / MRP Live if on S/4HANA)
BOMs, Routings, Work Centers, Production Versions
Production Orders, Process Orders (if process industry)
Capacity Planning & Scheduling
Understanding of integration with SAP MM, SD, QM, CO, PM.
Experience with S/4HANA is a plus (Fiori apps, advanced MRP, etc.).
Ability to write/understand functional specs and work with ABAP developers.
