Who You’ll Work With
The Information Technology organization is the technological foundation of our business and works in collaboration with our partners from across the company. The team drives technology and digital transformation, partners with business leaders to design and execute new strategies through IT and operations services and ensures the necessary IT risk management and security measures are in place and aligned with enterprise architecture standards and principles.
About The Role
As part of the Enterprise IT team, manages the functional delivery & related customization/app development, oversees the related functional production support for Corebridge Financials’ SAP Insurance Accounting capability including FSCD (Collections and Disbursements) and FPSL (Financial Products Subledger for Insurance). This leader should understand key finance business concepts like:
- Insurance Collections and Disbursements
- General Ledger and Insurance Subledger Accounting
- Master Data Governance (SAP MDG)
- Management & Regulatory Reporting
- Financial Close
Oversees the insurance accounting functions technology delivery, partners with related business stakeholders and operations to oversee the day-to-day operation of and support the innovation roadmap for the insurance accounting functions within SAP. This leader supports the execution of end-to-end transformation delivery initiatives, including execution, timing, functionality, quality, communication, and support for Corebridge’s insurance accounting, insurance product related collections & disbursements technology.
Leads the design and development of internal insurance accounting related business systems/applications, system interfaces, databases, reporting, or business intelligence systems, to deliver new systems functionality, based on business requirements for the Corebridge finance technology platform.
This is a key role that will interact with key business partners and operations leaders along with risk & compliance on strategic finance transformation projects.
Responsibilities
- This role focuses on partnering with key business partners and other technology leaders in Infrastructure, Security, to plan, analyze, design, implement, test, and integrate the application or software.
- The role provides leadership, mentoring, and coaching to the related support and project teams; Guides team members in the alignment, analysis, and execution tasks within and across business and IT teams; Participates in and contributes to learning activities around modern software design and development core practices
- Role serves as a Subject Matter Expert for Application Design and can execute on the SAP ASAP/Activate methodologies for related sub-business lines/functions:
- Ideation and Requirements: Brainstorming ideas that solve the problem faced by the target user; interacting with stakeholders and users to collect and document project requirements in close partnership with the IT Business Relationship Owners
- Design: Creates the architecture of a software system and its element, in close partnership with the Enterprise Architecture standard and guidelines
- Development: Oversees the writing of the code for the software using the relevant programming language
- Configuration: Oversees the configuration of SAP FSCD and FPSL following SAP leading practices
- Testing and Quality Assurance: Oversees the evaluation of the quality of software to identify errors and defects and ensure the software corresponds to the specifications established at plan and design
- Deploy and Release Management: Prepares the software to run and operate in a specific environment including planning and schedule the deployment of a software version through various stages and environments and coordinating with Product Owners, Quality Managers, Change Managers and DevOps.
- Maintenance: Prepares to hand off the support of the software after it has been released to the market, to the IT Production Support team
- Leader provides oversight of functional production support activities and any related root cause analyses
- Leader guides team through the SAP ASAP and Activate development methodologies. Additionally, leader has advanced knowledge in developing applications with highly scalable cloud solutions, using modern concurrency principles, and programming languages used by our Corebridge core businesses.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent work experience)
- 7+ years or more of relevant experience and an undergraduate degree in Finance, Computer Science or Information Systems. 4+ years of industry experience
- In-depth understanding of Finance systems, finance related data & reporting solutions, insurance subledger accounting, insurance collections & disbursement, SAP BTP (including Clean Core concepts), & SAP BDC (including Datasphere & SAC/SACP) experience are preferred.
- Strong influencing and negotiation skills
- Work with leaders across multiple business lines; Leads both domestic and globally distributed teams.
- Identifies issues within immediate team and gathers information to determine root cause
- Administers, interprets, and executes policies and procedures to ensure success of initiative and programs.
- Comfortable working in a dynamic, rapidly changing and oft-times ambiguous environment.
- Must maintain confidentiality of highly sensitive information
- Excellent communication (written and oral) and people skills.
- Understanding of application systems design and integration in a large heterogeneous enterprise environment
- Experience with modern IT monitoring capabilities

Compensation
The anticipated salary range for this position is $135,000 to $150,000 for the Jersey City, NJ region at the commencement of employment. Not all candidates will be eligible for the upper end of the salary range. The actual compensation offered will ultimately be dependent on multiple factors, which may include the candidate’s geographic location, skills, experience and other qualifications.
In addition, the position is eligible for a discretionary bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable incentive plan.

Work Location
This position is based in Corebridge Financial’s Houston, TX or Jersey City, NJ office and is subject to our hybrid working policy, which gives colleagues the benefits of working both in an office and remotely.
