We are seeking a highly skilled SAP FICO Consultant with specialized expertise in VAT and tax processes within SAP, specifically focused on European regulations. The ideal candidate will have hands-on technical and business experience in VAT, E-invoicing, and E-tax within SAP, with deep knowledge of global trade, VAT tax integration, determination, and the nuances of EU and non-EU related rules and regulations. Experience in managing third-party vendors or IT services and involvement in mergers and acquisitions (M&A) integration related to VAT and tax processes are essential. This role requires a comprehensive understanding of tax regulations and the ability to optimize tax-related processes within SAP
Key Responsibilities:
- SAP FICO Configuration and Management:
- Lead the design, configuration, and management of SAP FICO modules related to VAT, tax, E-invoicing, and E-tax, ensuring compliance with European and global trade regulations.
- Provide hands-on support for configuring tax codes, VAT reporting, and tax determination rules within SAP, including integration with global trade functionalities.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate VAT and tax processes with other SAP modules, ensuring seamless financial operations.
- VAT and Tax Compliance (Europe and Global):
- Ensure the organization’s VAT and tax processes within SAP are compliant with European regulations and global trade requirements, including non-EU regulations.
- Monitor changes in tax legislation and update SAP configurations accordingly to maintain compliance across multiple jurisdictions.
- Lead initiatives to optimize VAT and tax processes, reducing tax risks and improving efficiency, with a focus on both EU and non-EU regulations.
- Global Trade and VAT Tax Integration:
- Develop and manage global trade and VAT tax integration within SAP, ensuring accurate determination and reporting of VAT for cross-border transactions.
- Implement and manage tax determination rules and integration for global trade, ensuring compliance with both EU and non-EU regulations.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to global trade and VAT tax within SAP, providing hands-on support where needed.
- E-Invoicing and E-Tax Expertise:
- Implement and manage E-invoicing and E-tax solutions within SAP, ensuring alignment with European standards and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with IT and finance teams to ensure the successful rollout and maintenance of E-invoicing and E-tax functionalities.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to E-invoicing and E-tax within SAP.
- Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) Tax Integration:
- Lead financial due diligence and integration efforts for M&A activities, focusing on VAT and tax processes.
- Develop and execute integration plans, including financial data migration, process harmonization, and system consolidation.
- Assess the tax impact of acquisitions and develop strategies to address integration challenges.
- Vendor Management and IT Support:
- Manage relationships with third-party vendors and IT service providers supporting SAP FICO, VAT, and tax functionalities.
- Oversee vendor selection, contract negotiations, and performance management to ensure high-quality IT support services.
- Coordinate with vendors to implement system upgrades, troubleshoot issues, and ensure alignment with business objectives.
- Stakeholder Management and Communication:
- Act as the primary point of contact for VAT and tax-related inquiries, ensuring effective communication with stakeholders at all levels.
- Collaborate with finance, legal, and compliance teams to ensure alignment on tax strategies and reporting requirements.
- Provide training and support to end-users on VAT, tax, E-invoicing, and E-tax processes within SAP.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Information Technology, or a related field; MBA, CPA, or relevant tax certifications preferred.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in SAP FICO with a strong focus on VAT, tax, E-invoicing, E-tax, and global trade processes within Europe.
- Proven hands-on experience in configuring and managing VAT and tax processes within SAP, including integration with global trade functionalities.
- Experience managing third-party vendors or IT service providers.
- Knowledge of EU and non-EU VAT regulations and global trade rules.
- Experience in mergers and acquisitions, particularly related to VAT and tax integration.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with SAP ECC6.0 and its tax functionalities.
- Familiarity with project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall).
- Knowledge of global tax compliance and reporting requirements.
