SAP FICO Consultant - Solution Expert

Metro Global Solution Center (MGSC) is internal solution partner for METRO, a €31.6 Billion international wholesaler with operations in more than 30 countries. The store network comprises a total of 623 stores in 21 countries, of which 522 offer out-of-store delivery (OOS), and 94 dedicated depots. In 12 countries, METRO runs only the delivery business by its delivery companies (Food Service Distribution, FSD). 

HoReCa and Traders are core customer groups of METRO. The HoReCa section includes hotels, restaurants, catering companies as well as bars, cafés and canteen operators. The Traders section includes small grocery stores and kiosks. The majority of all customer groups are small and medium-sized enterprises as well as sole traders. METRO helps them manage their business challenges more effectively. 

MGSC, location wise is present in Pune (India), Düsseldorf (Germany) and Szczecin (Poland). We provide HR, Finance, IT, Strategy, Branding & Business operations support to 31 countries, speak 24+ languages and process over 18,000 transactions a day. About the Role

We are looking for a Solution Expert – Finance & Accounts to join our team supporting business-critical solutions within Finance & Accounting and related business areas.

In this role, you will act as the bridge between business stakeholders and technical teams, ensuring stable operations, continuous improvement, and the successful evolution of business applications. You will play a key role in understanding business needs, translating them into solution designs, supporting day-to-day operations, and contributing to transformation and optimization initiatives across SAP and non-SAP solutions.

The position is primarily focused on application management, operational excellence, and continuous improvement in a complex international environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyse business requirements and translate them into functional solution designs and work items.
• Support and enhance business applications within Finance & Accounting and related domains.
• Act as a trusted advisor for business stakeholders and key users.
• Coordinate and support incident, problem, and change management activities.
• Drive root cause analysis and identify opportunities for process improvements.
• Collaborate with technical teams, external service providers, and other stakeholders to ensure end-to-end process stability.
• Support testing activities, releases, deployments, and solution enhancements.
• Contribute to process harmonization and standardization initiatives across business units and countries.
• Provide functional expertise for projects and strategic initiatives.
• Support the organization's application roadmap and continuous improvement initiatives across SAP and non-SAP solutions.

Required Qualifications & Experience

• 5-8 years of professional experience in enterprise application environments.
• Strong functional knowledge of Finance & Accounting processes.
• Experience in business process analysis and functional solution design.
• Experience working in application management, support, or consulting environments.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to understand business requirements and translate them into effective system solutions.
• Experience collaborating with multiple stakeholders across business and IT functions.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work independently while maintaining a collaborative mindset.
