It's fun to work in a company where people truly BELIEVE in what they're doing!

We are seeking an experienced SAP ERP Specialist with strong expertise in the retail industry’s SAP environment – specifically in the Materials Management (MM) and Sales & Distribution (SD) modules. In this role, you will ensure that our SAP ERP systems effectively support and integrate with our online and omnichannel retail operations, optimizing inventory management, sales order processing, and overall supply chain workflows. You will work closely with cross-functional teams (including e-commerce, supply chain, and IT) to customize solutions, troubleshooting issues, and drive continuous improvement in business processes enabled by SAP. This is a key role that bridges our digital commerce platforms with our core ERP backend, ensuring a seamless omnichannel customer experience.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • SAP ERP Retail Experience: Proven experience (approximately 5+ years) working with SAP ERP in a retail environment, with deep functional knowledge of the Materials Management (MM) and Sales & Distribution (SD) modules. You should understand how retail processes like purchasing, store replenishment, pricing updates, and sales order fulfillment are executed and configured in SAP
  • Integration Knowledge: Familiarity with how SAP ERP systems interface with other enterprise systems. Experience integrating SAP with e-commerce platforms, point-of-sale systems, or warehouse management systems is highly desirable. Ability to troubleshoot integration issues (e.g. IDoc errors, data mismatches) between SAP and external systems.
  • Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities. Able to dissect complex process issues or data inconsistencies in SAP and identify root causes and solutions. A detail-oriented approach is essential to ensure accuracy in data such as inventory levels, orders, and pricing across systems.
  • Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business (with IT focus) or a related field is preferred. Equivalent work experience or SAP certifications (e.g. SAP MM or SD module certification) will be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Communication & Collaboration: Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey technical SAP concepts in simple terms to business users. Proven track record of working collaboratively in cross-functional teams and with stakeholders at various levels. Comfortable leading workshops or discussions to gather requirements or explain SAP capabilities.
  • Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously, prioritize workload effectively, and meet deadlines. Self-motivated and capable of proactively monitoring SAP systems and processes to catch and fix issues before they impact operations.
  • Adaptability: Comfortable working in a fast-paced, agile environment. Open to learning and using new tools or methodologies (e.g. Jira for issue tracking, agile sprint planning) and able to adapt SAP solutions as business requirements evolve.

Key Responsibilities

  • SAP ERP Management: Configure, maintain, and optimize SAP ERP modules (MM and SD) to support day-to-day retail operations such as purchasing, inventory control, pricing updates, and sales order processing. Ensure these modules are aligned with business needs and follow best practices for a grocery retail environment.
  • Omnichannel Integration: Collaborate with e-commerce and IT teams to integrate SAP ERP processes with online shopping platforms – for example, ensuring product availability, stock levels, and pricing information flow accurately between SAP and the e-commerce systems. Develop and monitor interfaces (e.g. IDocs, batch jobs) that connect SAP with website/order management systems, resolving any integration errors promptly.
  • Business Process Improvement: Analyze current business processes in areas like supply chain, merchandising, and order fulfillment, and identify how SAP ERP functionality can be leveraged or enhanced to improve efficiency. Translate business requirements into SAP functional specifications and work with SAP developers or external consultants to implement enhancements or new features.
  • Troubleshooting and Support: Act as the go-to expert for SAP ERP issues within the Omnichannel team. Investigate and resolve any ERP-related problems that affect online orders, inventory synchronization, or sales transactions (e.g. stock discrepancies, pricing mismatches, delivery failures in SAP). Provide timely support and guidance to end-users and stakeholders on SAP processes related to e-commerce operations.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with stakeholders across departments (Merchandise Planning, Online Operations, Finance, etc.) to ensure SAP ERP configurations meet cross-departmental needs. For instance, coordinate with finance on billing and invoicing through SD, or with the warehouse/delivery teams to ensure that SAP reflects online order statuses and logistics updates.
  • Project Participation: Take part in projects that involve SAP ERP changes or upgrades – such as migrating to new SAP versions, adding new modules, or rolling out new omnichannel services. Provide subject matter expertise on SAP capabilities/limitations during project planning, and assist in testing and deploying SAP changes to ensure minimal disruption to the business.
  • Documentation & Training: Document system configurations, process flows, and standard operating procedures for SAP tasks related to omnichannel (e.g. how online promotions are handled in SAP, or how click-and-collect orders flow into SAP). Train team members and end-users on new SAP processes or features, improving overall ERP competency within the team.

Preferred Skills and Additional Advantages:

  • E-commerce Domain Experience: Experience working in an e-commerce or omnichannel retail environment is a strong advantage. Understanding the end-to-end online order flow (from online order placement to fulfillment and delivery) and how it interacts with SAP will help you hit the ground running.
  • Broader SAP Ecosystem Knowledge: Exposure to other SAP modules and solutions used in retail, such as SAP FICO (Finance & Controlling), SAP CAR (Customer Activity Repository), or SAP Retail (SAP IS-Retail) is beneficial. A broad understanding of how these systems tie together (for example, how sales in SD flow into Finance, or how CAR feeds into inventory decisions) can provide a more holistic view.
  • Technical Aptitude in SAP: While this is primarily a functional role, the ability to read or debug ABAP code or familiarity with basic SAP ABAP development concepts is a plus. This would enable more effective collaboration with developers and a quicker turnaround in troubleshooting technical issues.
  • SAP Certification/Training: Any formal SAP certifications (e.g. SAP Certified Application Professional in MM or SD) or training in SAP S/4HANA (the next-generation SAP ERP) would be an advantage, indicating a commitment to staying current with SAP technologies.
  • E-commerce Platform Knowledge: Familiarity with e-commerce platforms or order management systems (for instance, experience with SAP Commerce (Hybris) or similar) would be useful. This role works closely with our digital commerce team, so knowing how front-end e-commerce systems operate (product catalogs, shopping carts, etc.) and how they connect to SAP can shorten the learning curve.
