SAP BTP Cloud Integration Consultant - Contract - Melbourne

Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Senior SAP BTP Cloud Integration Consultant to design, develop, implement, and support enterprise integration solutions using SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) Integration Suite. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with SAP Cloud Integration (CI/CPI), SAP S/4HANA, APIs, event-driven integration, B2B integrations, and hybrid cloud landscapes. The role requires a strong combination of technical expertise, integration architecture skills, troubleshooting capability, and stakeholder management.

Key Responsibilities:

· Design, develop, configure, test, deploy, and support integration flows using SAP BTP Integration Suite – Cloud Integration.

· Develop reusable integration components and frameworks following SAP integration best practices.

· Implement exception handling, retry mechanisms, monitoring, alerting, and error-handling frameworks.

· Define appropriate integration patterns, including synchronous and asynchronous integrations, Event-driven integrations.

· Provide technical guidance on API-led, cloud-to-cloud, and hybrid integration scenarios.

· Integrate SAP BTP with systems with External logistics, retail and B2B platforms.

· Work with AS2, IDocs, APIs, web services, OData services, and file-based integrations.

· Develop advanced Groovy scripts for data transformation, validation, custom routing, dynamic configuration, and exception handling.

· Work with XML, JSON, CSV, EDIFACT and other enterprise data formats.

· Develop XSLT mappings and graphical/message mappings where required.

· Perform root-cause analysis of failed messages and recurring integration issues.

· Troubleshoot connectivity, authentication, certificate, payload, mapping, and backend-system issues.

· Manage integration security requirements including SSL/TLS certificates, SSH, OAuth 2.0, Basic authentications, PGP, AS2 security.

· Work closely with business analysts, solution architects, SAP functional teams, developers, infrastructure teams, and external vendors.

· Prepare technical specifications, integration design documents, test scenarios, and operational documentation.

· Provide clear technical updates to project and management stakeholders.

Required Technical Skills:

· 5–8+ years of experience in SAP integration technologies.

· Strong hands-on experience with SAP BTP Integration Suite / SAP Cloud Integration (CPI/CI).

· Strong experience designing and developing complex iFlows.

· Good knowledge of XML, JSON, XPath, XSLT, and data transformation.

· Experience with REST, SOAP, OData, HTTP, SFTP, IDoc, AS2, Process Direct.

· Strong understanding of SAP S/4HANA integration.

· Experience with API Management and enterprise APIs.

· Experience with certificates, SSH keys, OAuth, PGP, and other authentication mechanisms.

· Strong troubleshooting and production-support experience.

· Experience working with high-volume and business-critical integrations.

Preferred Skills:

· SAP Integration Suite – API Management, Open Connectors, Integration Advisor.

· SAP Cloud Connector.

· SAP SuccessFactors integration.

· SAP S/4HANA Cloud and RISE environments.

· SAP EWM, SAP Commerce Cloud, B2B/EDI integration experience.

· Experience with CI/CD and DevOps practices.

· Knowledge of SAP Integration Suite migration from other integration systems.

· Familiarity with ITIL, ServiceNow, and enterprise change-management processes.

Preferred Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s degree in science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.

· SAP certification in SAP Integration Suite / SAP BTP is desirable.

· Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.

· Ability to work independently as well as within a global delivery team.
