SAP BTP - ABAP Fiori Developer

Job Overview: 

We are looking for an experienced and talented SAP BTP - ABAP Fiori Developer and Integration Expert to join our SAP Implementation Project team. The ideal candidate will have over 9 years of hands-on experience with SAP, with a strong background in ABAP Fiori development and integration, specifically within SAP BTP environments. The candidate will be responsible for managing, designing, and implementing end-to-end solutions on SAP BTP, leveraging SAP Fiori for modern user interfaces and ABAP for backend integration. This role requires strong technical expertise and the ability to deliver scalable, high-quality solutions. 

Key Responsibilities: 

• SAP BTP Architecture & Integration: 

• Lead the design and implementation of SAP BTP-based solutions with a focus on SAP Fiori development and ABAP backend integration. 

• Develop and manage Fiori applications to enhance the user experience across SAP applications and platforms. 

• Integrate SAP Fiori applications with SAP S/4HANA, ECC, and other systems using SAP BTP integration technologies, including SAP Cloud Platform Integration (CPI) and APIs. 

• Ensure smooth communication and data flow between SAP Fiori frontend applications and SAP backend systems via ABAP-based services and OData services. 

• ABAP Fiori Development: 

• Design and develop custom SAP Fiori applications using SAPUI5 and Fiori elements, with a focus on responsive and modern user interfaces. 

• Perform ABAP development tasks for backend systems, including custom reports, enhancements, BAPIs, BADIs, and workflows, ensuring seamless integration with SAP Fiori. 

• Optimize and enhance ABAP code to improve performance and ensure long-term maintainability of solutions. 

• Technical Leadership & Mentoring: 

• Lead a team of developers in the implementation of SAP BTP solutions, ensuring that all technical aspects align with best practices. 

• Provide mentorship and guidance to junior developers on ABAP Fiori development, design patterns, and integration techniques. 

• Collaborate with functional teams to ensure alignment of technical solutions with business requirements. 

• Project Delivery & Execution: 

• Manage and drive SAP BTP implementation projects, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality solutions. 

• Oversee the development lifecycle of SAP Fiori applications from design through development, testing, and deployment. 

• Monitor project progress, manage risks, and ensure the achievement of project milestones and objectives. 

• Client & Stakeholder Communication: 

• Work closely with business stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions using SAP Fiori and ABAP. 

• Provide regular updates to project managers and business users on project status, risks, and timelines. 

• Assist clients in understanding how SAP Fiori and BTP can improve user experience and operational efficiency. 

• Continuous Improvement & Innovation: 

• Stay updated with the latest SAP Fiori and SAP BTP features, enhancements, and industry best practices. 

• Promote the use of modern development practices and tools such as SAP Business Application Studio and SAP Fiori tools for building scalable applications. 

• Recommend and implement improvements to development practices, deployment processes, and overall solution delivery. 

Key Skills & Qualifications: 

• Technical Expertise: 

• Extensive experience in SAP Fiori development using SAPUI5, Fiori elements, and Fiori design guidelines. 

• Strong ABAP development skills, including knowledge of reports, enhancements, BAPIs, BADIs, OData services, and workflows. 

• Expertise in integrating SAP Fiori applications with backend SAP systems (e.g., S/4HANA, ECC) and third-party applications using SAP Cloud Platform Integration (CPI). 

• Hands-on experience with SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) services, including SAP HANA Cloud, SAP Cloud Application Programming (CAP), and SAP Integration Suite. 

• Project Management & Delivery: 

• Proven ability to lead and manage complex SAP BTP implementation projects, from design to go-live. 

• Strong project management skills, including experience with Agile methodologies and tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence). 

• Excellent communication skills, capable of working with technical teams and business stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery. 

• Experience & Education: 

• Minimum 9 years of experience in SAP with at least 3+ years of hands-on experience in SAP BTP, ABAP Fiori development, and integration. 

• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field (Master’s degree preferred). 

• SAP certification in ABAP or SAP Fiori is highly desirable. 

• Problem-Solving & Analytical Skills: 

• Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to debug complex technical issues in SAP Fiori and ABAP environments. 

• Ability to understand business requirements and translate them into efficient and scalable technical solutions. 

Preferred Additional Skills: 

• Experience in implementing SAP Fiori apps for SAP S/4HANA and SAP ECC systems. 

• Knowledge of SAP Fiori launchpad configuration and custom app registration. 

• Familiarity with cloud technologies, microservices, and APIs for system integration. 

• Experience with Agile development practices and continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines.
