SAP Basis Consultant

Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled and proactive SAP Basis Consultant to join our SAP infrastructure and operations team. This role is critical in ensuring the stability, performance, and reliability of our SAP systems. The ideal candidate will bring deep technical expertise in SAP Basis administration, strong problem-solving capabilities, and experience managing SAP landscapes in both on-premises and cloud environments.
As an SAP Basis Consultant, you will be responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance, and monitoring of SAP systems, ensuring high availability and performance. You will work closely with application, development, and infrastructure teams to deliver a secure and optimized SAP environment

Key Responsibilities:
System Administration & Support:

• Install, configure, and upgrade SAP systems (SAP ECC, S/4HANA, BW, PI/PO, Solution Manager, Fiori, etc.).
• Manage SAP system copies, client administration, transport management, and patching.
• Monitor system performance, perform tuning, and ensure system health and availability.
• Handle backup and recovery processes in coordination with database and storage teams.
• Database & OS Interaction:
• Support underlying databases (SAP HANA, Oracle, SQL Server, DB2) and integration with SAP layers.
• Work with OS teams to manage and troubleshoot Linux/UNIX/Windows environments for SAP hosting.
• Security & Compliance:
• Ensure system security, manage roles at the technical level, and apply SAP notes and support packages.
• Collaborate with security teams to implement best practices for system hardening and compliance.

Monitoring & Troubleshooting:

• Proactively monitor SAP landscapes using tools like SAP Solution Manager, CCMS, and third-party monitoring solutions.
• Analyze logs and dumps, investigate short dumps, and resolve runtime errors.
• Collaboration & Documentation:
• Work closely with SAP application, ABAP, and infrastructure teams to support ongoing projects and incidents.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, including architecture diagrams, operation manuals, and upgrade guides.
• Technical Environment:
• SAP ECC, S/4HANA, BW/4HANA, PI/PO, Fiori, Solution Manager
• Databases: HANA, Oracle, SQL Server, DB2
• Operating Systems: Linux, UNIX, Windows
• SAP Cloud Connector, SAP Router, SAP Web Dispatcher

Required Skills & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
• 4+ years of hands-on experience as an SAP Basis Consultant.
• In-depth knowledge of SAP NetWeaver architecture and system landscape design.
• Experience with SAP installations, upgrades, support packages, and kernel updates.
• Proficiency in HANA and/or other supported databases in the SAP environment.
• Familiarity with system copies, client strategy, and transport management systems.
• English on C1 level.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with SAP S/4HANA migration or greenfield implementations.
• Exposure to SAP Cloud Platform, SAP BTP, or hybrid system landscapes.
• SAP certifications (e.g., SAP Certified Technology Associate - System Administration) are a plus.
• Knowledge of high-availability and disaster recovery setups (HA/DR) in SAP environments.

We offer salary from 3700 eur/brutto/month. Salary can be higher depending on experience and skillset.
