SAP BASIS Consultant (K3)

Overview:

Westrocon is an SAP VAR partner for SAP ByDesign, S/4HANA and other products and has high growth aspirations in South Africa and the rest of Africa. It wants to become the leading mid-market VAR in the SAP General Business space. As a company we—

• Take responsibility for the installation, upgrade and support of all components of the SAP Infrastructure
• Contribute to the architecture design of the SAP systems
• Support and provide guidance to first, second and third-line Support Teams and project consultants

Job Requirements & Qualifications:

• Tertiary qualification – degree an advantage (e.g. BSc IT)
• IT experience both within and outside of their field of expertise (e.g. databases, networks, MSQL, etc.)
• Certifications in SAP NetWeaver Technology (SAP Basis) and/or Solution Manager
• Official industry recognised qualifications (e.g. Oracle, Linux, databases, etc.).

Skills:

• Implementing and supporting SAP ECC
• Experience in Red Hat Linux, SUSE, Oracle Enterprise Linux, database administration (Oracle, SQL Server), network administration and SAN administration

Experience:

• Implementing and supporting SAP ECC/SAP S4/HANA
• Upgrade, migration experience
• DR and HA experience

Responsibilities:

• Ensure the SAP based systems operate reliably and efficiently in a secure environment. This includes assisting with the configuration and maintenance of High Availability and Disaster Recover SAP solutions
• Complete project-based work keeping a focus on meeting key project milestones
• Ensure the adherence of standards
• Maintain daily contact with the SAP Basis team leader regarding work progress
• Complete quality documentation for the SAP environments
• Provide first/second/third line technical support in areas where job holder possesses unique technical expertise
• Liaise with the functional SAP experts and business teams in order to assist with the ongoing functional support of SAP
• Provide support for other application and services as requested by the SAP Basis team leader. Contribute as possible where the area is outside of the job holder’s technical expertise
• Build, manage and maintain effective relationships with SAP Functional Consultants, third party suppliers, customers and the Business streams
• Investigate, review and recommend new technology
• Keep abreast with new and developing technology as per SAP directives
