Job Title: SAP Basis, Cloud and Compliance Lead (RISE & Enterprise Platforms)
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced SAP Basis, Cloud & Compliance Lead to own the architecture, delivery and governance of our SAP RISE and Cloud application landscape, supporting enterprise digital transformation. This role acts as the technical authority for SAP platforms, ensuring availability, resilience, security, compliance and operational excellence across global SAP environments.
The role partners closely with internal IT teams, SAP ECS, cloud providers and system integrators to proactively manage platform health, risk and continuous improvement while aligning SAP technology with business strategy.
Key Responsibilities
SAP Platform Architecture & Basis Leadership
Own and govern SAP platform architecture across ECC, S/4HANA, CRM, Solution Manager and RISE environments
Act as the SAP Basis and platform SME, defining standards, best practices and lifecycle management
Lead system refreshes, upgrades and S/4HANA readiness including pre and post refresh technical activities
Oversee batch job monitoring, background processing and interface stability
Cloud, RISE & ALM Governance
Architect and govern SAP RISE operations, shared responsibility model and hyperscaler alignment
Own SAP Cloud ALM strategy for monitoring, alerting, incident management and continuous improvement
Manage integrations across SAP and cloud ecosystems including Ariba, BTP, OpenText, Cloud Connector, DPA and third‑party platforms
Own connectivity design including VPNs, IP whitelisting, authentication and network coordination
Maintain understanding of SAP contractual services, SLAs and chargeable offerings and align changes with leadership
System Monitoring & Operational Excellence
Define and implement end‑to‑end SAP monitoring strategy covering availability, performance, capacity and interfaces
Establish alerting, escalation and incident response models aligned to business criticality and ITSM processes
Drive root‑cause analysis for recurring or major incidents and implement long‑term corrective actions
Ensure continuous platform health through proactive system checks, housekeeping and performance tuning
Lead capacity planning based on data growth, business demand and future roadmap
Security, Compliance & Risk Management
Ensure SAP platform compliance with IT General Controls (ITGC) and internal audit requirements
Partner with the Security team to drive FUE optimization, vulnerability remediation and secure configuration
Lead audit engagement, evidence preparation walkthroughs and remediation activities
Maintain SAP risk register covering availability, security, compliance and operational risks
Disaster Recovery & Business Continuity
Define and validate SAP disaster recovery architecture including RTO and RPO targets
Lead DR planning, testing and readiness reviews with SAP and cloud providers
Ensure business continuity through resilience design, failover readiness and recovery governance
Governance, Change & Stakeholder Management
Establish SAP platform governance frameworks spanning Basis, Cloud, Security and Compliance
Govern change, release, transport and environment strategies for BAU and project delivery
Develop and maintain operational runbooks, SOPs and escalation models
Communicate platform vision, risks and opportunities effectively to senior leadership
Act as a bridge between business stakeholders, SAP, vendors and internal IT teams
Key Skills & Experience
Strong experience in SAP Basis, RISE with SAP and cloud platforms
Hands‑on expertise with SAP ECC, S/4HANA, CRM and Solution Manager
Experience with Cloud ALM, system monitoring, DR planning and audit readiness
Proven knowledge of SAP integrations, connectivity, security governance and compliance
Experience working with SAP ECS, hyperscalers and system integrators
Ability to operate at both architectural design and operational leadership levels
