We are team of 80+ associates (Analysts, Developers , Admins & Security) located in US, Europe and China.  We have been working on many challenging initiatives at IDEXX including modernizing our global billing ecosystem and invoicing customer experience. This role offers flexibility in location:

Location: Hybrid: You must be reasonable driving distance to our World Campus in Westbrook, Maine. Hybrid: Minimum of 8 on-site days per month

In this role…

We are looking for an SAP Application & Integration Developer to provide technical and business knowledge to application development, enhancement and integration projects utilizing current computing architectures. You should provide technical guidance, mentoring, and follow SAP best practices in the provision of SAP solutions and associated services to IDEXX business units. You will be responsible for development focusing on design, coding, testing, quality assurance and supporting of complex SAP Application and Integration features in the Digital Billing Transformation team within IT Enterprise Customer Experience Systems (ECXS).

  • You will design, develop, implement and maintain SAP suite applications, internet-based applications and applications in other technologies.
  • You will be resolving complex issues within own area of expertise and support others in resolving complex issues.
  • Demonstrating a high level of quality, speed, reliability and efficiency while being able to work independently.
  • You will be working closely together with other team members and proactively share expertise to ensure the team success.
  • You will also be focused on the Digital Billing Transformation and modernizing enterprise systems integrations.
  • Building integration for A2A and B2B solutions in heterogeneous landscape. Create data maps, conversion programs, and implementation of interface and enhancement programs of legacy, mobile, Non-SAP and SAP systems.
  • You will be leveraging best practices and provide guidance to use the same in SAP solution and service delivery.
  • Effectively work with service providers, prioritize project deliverables, and determine implementation approaches.
  • You would also be collaborating with the business and functional resources.

What you will need to succeed…

Technical Skills required:

SAP S/4HANA Development and Technical Stack

  • 5 to 7+ years of deep and proven expertise in SAP S/4HANA development, with preferred experience across Sales (SD) and Finance (FI/CO) modules. Experience with other core SAP modules is a significant asset.
  • Proficient in leveraging modern SAP technologies, including the new SAP ABAP paradigm and the comprehensive SAP stack for building robust, high-performance solutions.
  • Expertise in ABAP Development Tools (ADT) for efficient development within the Eclipse environment.

Core ABAP and Modernization Skills

  • Strong, hands-on ABAP/4 development skills, encompassing ABAP RICEFW objects (Reports, Interfaces, Conversions, Enhancements, Forms, Workflow), Object-Oriented ABAP (OO ABAP), and foundational components such as Function Modules, RFCs, BAPIs, and BADIs.
  • Proven ability to implement Code Push Down techniques utilizing Core Data Services (CDS) Views and ABAP Managed Database Procedures (AMDP) to meet complex business requirements.
  • Extensive experience with Gateway Service Exposure to facilitate front-end consumption of back-end data.
  • Skilled in SAP Fiori/UI5 development and integration.

Technical Troubleshooting and Optimization

  • Strong competence in debugging and performance optimization, utilizing standard SAP tools to identify and resolve performance bottlenecks.
  • Expert ability to troubleshoot ABAP-related short dumps and debug code efficiently to determine and resolve the root cause of issues.
  • Solid understanding and practical experience with SAP Change Management processes and methodologies.

Integration and Communication Technologies

  • Extensive knowledge and working experience with service-oriented architecture, including OData Servicesproxy objects.
  • Expertise in Forms Technologies: Smart Forms, Adobe Forms, and SAP Scripts.
  • Comprehensive experience in developing complex B2B and A2A integrations via Process Orchestration (PO). This includes hands-on work with SLD, ID, EDI, ESR, XML, Java, ABAP, and XSLT data mappings, as well as Integration Monitoring and EDI/ALE Configuration.
  • Mastery of key integration protocols and technologies such as AS2, IDOC, HTTP, XML/XSLT, RFC, File, SFTP, JMS, JDBC, REST, SOAP, and various Web Services/APIs.

SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP)

  • Experience in developing and deploying integrations on the SAP Integration Suite within the SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP).
  • Strong foundational knowledge of the BTP platform, including the structure and management of Global and Sub Accounts.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science required or equivalent technical training and work experience.
  • Strong knowledge of procedural and object-oriented programming techniques.
  • Experience in agile application development and with all phases of system development life cycle.  You will be expected to partner with team members to create and evaluate options for achieving business objectives with a focus on customer experience.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills and an open communication style.
  • Strong execution skills with the ability to work efficiently and deliver quality results within standards to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently should be detail oriented and able to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to effectively articulate and present complex concepts and ideas to senior IT management, functional and business teams.

What you can expect from us:
• Base annual salary target: $105,000 - $120000 (yes, we do have flexibility if needed)
