Job Description

We are looking for a software engineer that can work with SAP ABAP & S4 Hana Central Finance; using as well technical features such as , CDS Views, BRF+, BADI, BAPI; and development for SAP Analysis for Office.

As the project software engineer you will be in charge of developing tools and reports in SAP in line with business requirements that rely on SAP FI information.

Development to be done is meant to create new business scenarios in a framework called SLUW (single logical unit of work); which is triggered via BAPI upon replication to Central Finance; this development involves SAP ABAP S4 Hana as well as BRF+.

Responsibilities:

  • Translates system requirements / user stories into a robust supportable design of code for the product / application.  Develops and tests the code to ensure it functions as designed.  Implements the code across the software development life cycle.  

  • Deploys to production, monitors, and maintains the software to ensure proper functionality.   Add new features and fixes to the software as needed. Works closely with others on product, operations teams, and other systems that the software and services in which it integrates. Plays a role in architecture design of the application where applicable/appropriate (eg. designing the cloud native architecture).

  • Continuously strives to improve the experience and performance of the codebase. Keeps up to date on the latest software practices, technologies, and vulnerabilities.

  • Provides engineering support for assigned tools and coordinate with other support teams, whether it is external or owned by internal product owners.

Roles and Responsibilities:

1. Requirements Gathering and Analysis

  • Understand Stakeholder Needs: Collaborate with product managers, business analysts, and stakeholders to gather and analyze requirements for software projects.

  • Define Specifications: Translate business requirements into technical specifications that guide the development process.

2. System Design

  • Architectural Design: Participate in designing the overall architecture of the software system, ensuring scalability, reliability, and maintainability.

  • Detailed Design: Create detailed design documents that outline how individual components will function and interact.

3. Coding and Implementation

  • Write Code: Develop high-quality, efficient, and maintainable code using programming languages and frameworks relevant to the project.

  • Follow Coding Standards: Adhere to coding standards and best practices to ensure consistency and quality across the codebase.

4. Testing and Debugging

  • Unit Testing: Write and execute unit tests to ensure that individual components function as expected.

  • Integration Testing: Collaborate with QA engineers to conduct integration testing, ensuring that different components work together correctly.

  • Debugging: Identify and fix bugs or issues in the code to improve software performance and reliability.

5. Documentation

  • Technical Documentation: Create and maintain technical documentation, including design documents, API documentation, and user manuals.

  • Code Comments: Write clear comments within the code to explain functionality and logic for future reference.

6. Collaboration and Teamwork

  • Work with Cross-Functional Teams: Collaborate with other team members, including designers, product managers, and other engineers, to achieve project goals.

  • Participate in Code Reviews: Engage in code reviews to provide and receive feedback, ensuring code quality and knowledge sharing within the team.

7. Version Control and Configuration Management

  • Use Version Control Systems: Utilize tools like Git to manage code changes, collaborate with team members, and track project history.

  • Branching and Merging: Implement branching strategies and manage merges to maintain a stable codebase.

8. Deployment and Maintenance

  • Deployment: Assist in deploying applications to production environments, ensuring that software is delivered on time and functions correctly.

  • Maintenance: Monitor software performance and provide ongoing maintenance and support to address issues that arise post-deployment.

9. Continuous Learning and Improvement

  • Stay Updated: Keep up with emerging technologies, programming languages, and industry trends to enhance skills and knowledge.

  • Participate in Training: Engage in training sessions, workshops, and conferences to improve technical and soft skills.

10. Problem Solving

  • Analytical Thinking: Use analytical skills to troubleshoot complex problems and devise effective solutions.

  • Innovate: Propose new features or improvements to existing systems based on user feedback and technological advancements.

Job Qualifications

  • Technical Skills:

3 years at least:
- SAP ABAP Developer
- SAP S4HANA
- SAP FICO
- Knowledge in CDS Views, BRF+, BADI, BAPI 

  • Nice to Have

- SAP BW

- SAP Analysis for Office.
