POSITION SUMMARY
Responsible for cleaning and sanitizing processing and packaging equipment per established Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOPs). Responsibilities include the accurate documentation of key sanitation control points in compliance with our sanitation program. Contributor and active participant in our continuous sanitation improvement process.
OTHER ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Clean lines and processing equipment as directed by established SSOPs
• Perform cleaning in place (CIP) and cleaning out of place (COP) procedures as outlined by SSOPs
• Disassemble equipment and change parts as required
• Clean and store utensils in proper location
• Knowledge of assigned cleaning chemicals and their proper usage
• Perform routine cleaning tasks in accordance to the Master Sanitation Schedule
• Ensure accurate recordkeeping to document work completed.
• Respond to all sanitation requirements in a timely, effective, and professional manner.
• Work with the Quality Assurance, Quality Control, and Safety when introducing new cleaning chemicals to the facility.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities, as assigned
WORK ENVIRONMENT
• Work occasionally near mechanical parts and in high places
• Work in wet environment with hot water, foaming and cleaning agents
• Work in production areas that may occasionally be a dusty environment
• Duties are performed primarily in a smoke-free environment
Requirements
MINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
• 2-year sanitation/cleaning experience preferably in a food manufacturing environment
• High school diploma or GED
• Computer knowledge and skills required
• Working knowledge of food manufacturing equipment and cleaning chemicals
• Ability to effectively communicate to employees in various positions and at all levels
• Must be willing to work overtime or on weekends, as the workload demands
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
• Frequently required to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, balance, and reach
• At times might be climbing a ladder
• Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
• Push/Pull up to 300 lbs.
