The Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE) provides compassionate comprehensive medical-forensic exams to victims of violence. This population of patients may include the following: sexual assault, domestic violence/intimate partner violence, child abuse, elder abuse, human trafficking and other abuse within the scope of practice.

- Give full attention to what other people are saying, take time to understand the points being made, ask questions as appropriate, and not interrupt at inappropriate times
- Perform forensic examinations, and document and report physiological and behavioral findings of the Center of Hope patient
- Provide information on the disease process, medications, etc.
- Provide counseling, resources, and support to patients, family members, and significant others
- Be aware of others' reactions and understand why they react as they do
QUALIFICATIONS
- A team-oriented RN willing to be flexible and dynamic in meeting patient care needs.
- Associate Degree from an accredited program is required, BSN desirable
- Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) with a valid license to practice in the state or as listed in the Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC)
- Knowledge of forensic nursing care principles, procedures, and practices
- Use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems
