The Materials and Management Department (MMD) is seeking a Procurement Business Partner who will be based at the Country Office in Samoa. This is a permanent full-time position reporting to the Area Purchasing Supervisor.

 

This role supports the mission of the Church by administering procurement activities within Samoa and American Samoa. This person will work closely with internal requesters and suppliers to source goods and services, negotiate contracts, and ensure best value outcomes while maintaining strong professional and ethical standards.  

Responsibilities
  • Manage purchases from initial requests through to payment and delivery 

  • Manage sourcing requests including price analysis, negotiations, vendor evaluations and contracts 

  • Maintain internal eMarket catalogues for standard items 

  • Provide technical and specialised procurement training and support to internal requesters

  • Foster strong supplier and partner relationships to ensure high performance and satisfaction 

Qualifications
  • A bachelor’s degree with at least two years of related procurement or purchasing experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience 

  • Demonstrated understanding and practical application of effective purchasing and sourcing principles 

  • Strong negotiation skills with the ability to achieve best‑value outcomes 

  • Customer service focus, able to build effective relationships with internal partners and external suppliers 

  • High level of professionalism, integrity, and sound judgement aligned with Church values 

  • Ability to quickly learn new systems and technologies 

  • Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally for up to two weeks when required 

  • Proof of legal right to work in Samoa

  • A police background check may be required

Skills Required
