Samaking is a tech-enabled company revolutionizing Africa’s fish value chain by improving sourcing, processing, and distribution. Our mission is to make fish the #1 protein on African plates while improving livelihoods for fish farmers and fisherfolk.
We are expanding into B2B sales, serving HORECA (Hotels, Restaurants, Caterers), modern trade (supermarkets), institutional buyers, and export markets. This role is critical to helping us grow into a B2B customer base, refine our go-to-market approach, and drive revenue growth.
The Role: 80% Sales, 20% Business Development
This is primarily a sales role (80%), focused on prospecting, closing deals, and managing key accounts. However, since we are an early-stage startup defining our B2B strategy, 20% of this role involves business development—identifying market trends, refining our pricing model, and shaping our go-to-market approach.

Key Responsibilities
- Sales Execution (80%)
- Identify and acquire B2B customers (restaurants, hotels, supermarkets, food service companies, exporters).
- Own the entire sales cycle from lead generation to closing deals.
- Build and maintain a structured sales pipeline using CRM tools.
- Negotiate contracts, pricing, and payment terms.
- Ensure excellent customer relationship management for repeat business.
- Business Development (20%)
- Work with leadership to refine pricing models, contracts, and go-to-market positioning.
- Gather and analyze market insights on competitor pricing, customer demand, and emerging trends.
- Test and refine different sales channels, messaging, and strategies.
- Provide feedback loops to the operations and sourcing teams to align supply with demand.

Requirements
- 4+ years of B2B sales experience, preferably in food distribution, agriculture, FMCG, or supply chain.
- Strong track record of prospecting, closing deals, and growing key accounts.
- Ability to work independently, own your pipeline, and meet revenue targets.
- Experience with negotiating contracts, pricing structures, and payment terms.
- Familiarity with cold chain logistics, perishables, or food safety standards is a plus.
- Experience in startups or fast-paced environments is a plus.
- Comfortable using CRM and sales tracking tools.
