What are we looking for?

The Field Sales Representative is responsible for implementing and executing Mars Brand, Category, and Customer strategies in local stores to drive Total Mars Petcare & Food Denmark NSV, volume, and profitability. By ensuring Excellence in Execution, the Sales Rep maximizes sales of Mars brands while simultaneously growing the total category and enhancing customer satisfaction.

This role requires proactive relationship-building with store managers and key decision-makers to become a trusted partner. The Sales Rep leverages data-driven insights to optimize product availability, visibility, and promotions, ensuring best-in-class execution that meets both Mars’ and the retailer’s objectives.

What will be your key responsibilities?
  • Sales Execution & Store Coverage

  • Cover the assigned sales district with optimal frequency, duration and optimized daily planning a in line with the Visit Plan.

  • Deliver sales targets per cycle, focusing on:

  • Qualitative measures (Perfect Store execution, distribution, shelving, display placements).

  • Quantitative measures (volume sales, display sales, NSV).

  • Ensure best-in-class execution in-store, in line with Mars category principles and physical availability targets.

  • Implement central chain-level decisions into local stores with a tactical and practical approach.

  • Manage in-store merchandising execution and oversee third-party merchandising partners.

Customer Focus & Business Growth

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with store managers and key decision-makers to become the preferred partner.
  • Balance central customer guidelines with local adaptations to maximize store performance.
  • Drive customer engagement, ensuring high satisfaction as measured in country-specific Trade Surveys.
  • Work collaboratively with top customers to build and execute Shared Business Plans within the district.
  • Proactively identify opportunities for growth, including distribution gaps, promotional activities, and display optimizations.

Financial & Administrative Responsibilities

  • Manage financial resources efficiently, ensuring NQC (Non-Quality Costs) and returns are minimized.
  • Optimize merchandising hours while staying within budget.
  • Ensure accurate reporting through digital tools (iPad, Assecco, Nordic Dashboard etc.) and maintain an organized storage of sales materials

Collaboration & Teamwork

  • Provide proactive feedback to the Line Manager on pricing, out-of-stock issues, distribution gaps, shelving, and display effectiveness.
  • Contribute to a high-performing sales team by actively participating in team meetings, sharing best practices, and supporting colleagues.
  • Continuously seek and provide feedback to enhance team performance and ways of working.
  • Engage in training and development initiatives to stay updated on sales strategies, product knowledge, and industry trends.

Context & Scope

The Field Sales Representative works independently within an assigned district, following a structured visit plan to optimize store coverage, frequency, duration and all in all execution. Collaboration is key—Sales Reps engage directly with store managers and key decision-makers to drive sales, implement central strategies locally, and ensure strong customer relationships.

Within the team, they share insights, best practices, and feedback with the Line Manager and colleagues to improve execution and performance. They also coordinate with merchandising partners to maintain high in-store standards and work cross-functionally when relevant with Category, Marketing, and the key account teams to align on focus areas & business goals.

Execution is tracked using digital tools (e.g., iPad reporting, sales frame, Nordic dashboard), ensuring data-driven decision-making and continuous improvement.
