Primary duties

As a Salesforce Senior Functional Consultant, you will show professionalism, and flexibility, be continuously learning, and act as a role model for our juniors and our clients. Your role responsibilities will be to:

  • Prepare and lead requirements gathering workshops with key stakeholders for small to medium complexity projects.
  • Create, own and interpret process maps for small to medium complexity projects / businesses.
  • Participate in NTT DATA added value activities outside regular client work.
  • Identify and raise potential risks to project and suggest, where possible, mitigation strategies.
  • Write epic and user stories, utilizing behavior driven development.
  • Configure Salesforce based on user stories.
  • Ensure compliance to design standards, perform unit testing, and actively manage assigned tasks to ensure quality completion by or before their due dates.
  • Complete mandatory training and maintain certification level.
  • Manage and prioritize project backlog for small to medium complexity projects.
  • Ensure overall solution design, integrity and completeness for small to medium complexity projects.
  • Provide input for solution design for medium to high complexity projects
  • Deliver and maintain key design decision recommendations and formulate options, pros and cons on small to medium complexity projects.

Business process improvement

  • Plans and leads strategic, large and complex business process improvement activities aligned with automation, or exploring existing or new technologies.
  • Develops organizational policies, standards and guidelines for business process improvement.
  • Leads the introduction of techniques, methodologies and tools to meet business requirements, ensuring consistency across all user groups.
  • Leads the development of organizational capabilities for business process improvement and ensures adoption of and adherence to policies and standards.

Requirements definition and management

  • Plans and drives scoping, requirements definition and prioritization activities for large, complex initiatives.
  • Selects, adopts and adapts appropriate requirements definition and management methods, tools and techniques. Contributes to the development of organizational methods and standards for requirements management.
  • Obtains input from, and agreement to requirements from a diverse range of stakeholders. Negotiates with stakeholders to manage competing priorities and conflicts.
  • Establishes requirements baselines. Ensures changes to requirements are investigated and managed.

Stakeholder relationship management

  • Deals with problems and issues, managing resolutions, corrective actions, lessons learned and the collection and dissemination of relevant information.
  • Implements stakeholder engagement / communications plan. Collects and uses feedback from customers and stakeholders to help measure the effectiveness of stakeholder management.
  • Helps develop and enhance customer and stakeholder relationships.

User experience design

  • Selects appropriate tools, methods and design patterns to design user interactions with and experiences of a product, system or service.
  • Translates concepts into outputs and prototypes and captures user feedback or evaluation to improve designs.
  • Evaluates alternative design options and recommends designs considering performance, security, usability and accessibility requirements.
  • Interprets and follows visual design and branding guidelines to create a consistent and impactful user experience.

Software configuration

  • Designs, verifies, documents, amends and refactors complex software configurations for deployment.
  • Contributes to the selection of software configuration methods, tools and techniques.
  • Applies agreed standards and tools, to achieve well-engineered outcomes.
  • Participates in reviews of own work and leads reviews of colleagues’ work.

Solution Architecture

  • Leads the development of solution architectures in specific business, infrastructure or functional areas.
  • Leads the preparation of technical plans and ensures that appropriate technical resources are made available. Ensures that appropriate tools and methods are available, understood and deployed in architecture development.
  • Provides technical guidance and governance on solution development and integration. Evaluates requests for changes and deviations from specifications and recommends actions.
  • Ensures that relevant technical strategies, policies, standards and practices (including security) are applied correctly.

Experience and skills

Required experience

  • Candidates with Consumer Goods Cloud experience or from Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) industry are highly desirable.
  • Professional consulting and functional delivery experience within a large-scale enterprise or technology services environment.
  • At least 3 – 5 years of experience working with the Salesforce platform.
  • 3+ years of experience implementing Salesforce across various use cases.
  • Experience working in an Agile project delivery environment.

Academic qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in business, information systems, technology, or a related discipline.

Certifications (Good to Have)

  • Salesforce Certified Platform Administrator
  • Salesforce Certified Platform App Builder
  • Salesforce Certified Sales Cloud Consultant
  • Salesforce Certified Service Cloud Consultant
  • Salesforce Certified Platform Developer 1
  • Scaled agile or product delivery certifications advantageous such as SAFe, Product Owner, or Business Analyst accreditations.
