Salesforce Releases/DevOps Engineer
We are looking for a Salesforce Release Engineer with hands-on experience using Gearset to manage, streamline, and continuously improve our Salesforce release process. This role is critical in ensuring the safe, predictable, and auditable deployment of changes across multiple Salesforce environments. The ideal candidate will have a background in release management, DevOps best practices, Salesforce configuration/development lifecycle, and cross-functional coordination. You will collaborate closely with Admins, Developers, QA, and Business Stakeholders to plan, test, and execute releases with high quality and minimal disruption.
About the Role
In this role, you will:
  • Own and manage the end-to-end release lifecycle for Salesforce environments using Gearset as the primary deployment tool.
  • Define and enforce release schedules, environments, and branching strategies to align with project and business timelines.
  • Build and maintain deployment pipelines in Gearset, ensuring automated testing, validations, and backup processes are in place.
  • Coordinate deployment activities across sandbox and production environments with Admins, Developers, and QA teams.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve deployment issues, merge conflicts, and metadata inconsistencies.
  • Establish and improve release governance, including change tracking, rollback plans, and environment audits.
  • Create and maintain documentation for release processes, Git workflows, and Gearset configuration standards.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure clear communication of release scope, timing, and risks.

The Skills You Will Bring Include
  • Experience: 2+ years in Salesforce release management or DevOps role, including at least 1 year of hands-on experience with Gearset.
  • Salesforce Knowledge: Strong understanding of Salesforce metadata, platform architecture, and deployment best practices.
  • Version Control: Experience working with Git-based workflows; familiarity with branching, pull requests, and merge strategies.
  • Problem Solving: Able to quickly diagnose and resolve deployment issues and inconsistencies across environments.
  • Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills; capable of interfacing with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Process Ownership: Demonstrated ability to build and optimize repeatable, scalable, and compliant release processes.
  • Documentation: Proven experience creating process documentation, runbooks, and training materials.
