Position Summary
The Salesforce Developer will be responsible for building and strengthening Open Systems’ internal Salesforce development capability, reducing reliance on external implementation and development partners. This role will lead the design, development, and maintenance of core Salesforce platform solutions, including Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC), integrations, Flow automation, and platform customizations.
The individual will play a critical role in accelerating the Salesforce migration, driving platform optimization, and supporting the organization's transition to an internally owned delivery model. Working closely with business stakeholders, architects, administrators, and the CPQ Specialist, the Salesforce Developer will ensure scalable, high-quality solutions that support sales, service, and operational processes.
Strategic Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable Salesforce solutions across Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, and Salesforce CPQ, leveraging Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC), Flow, Visualforce, and platform-native capabilities.
- Prepare test data, perform unit testing, support QA and user acceptance testing, troubleshoot defects, and ensure successful deployments.
- Analyse business, functional, and technical requirements and translate them into high-quality, maintainable, and scalable solutions aligned with Salesforce best practices.
- Configure and enhance Salesforce applications, including custom objects, page layouts, reports, dashboards, list views, approval processes, workflow automation, email templates, and security models.
- Ensure platform performance, scalability, reliability, and maintainability as business requirements and process complexity evolve.
- Build, optimize, and support Salesforce CPQ capabilities, including product configuration, pricing models, bundles, discount schedules, quoting workflows, approval chains, subscription management, and renewal processes.
- Contribute to release planning, deployment activities, Agile/Scrum delivery processes, and the creation of technical and solution documentation.
- Develop, maintain, and optimize integrations between Salesforce and enterprise systems such as HubSpot, ERP platforms, and other third-party applications using APIs, SOQL, SOSL, and integration frameworks.
- Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency through automation, process simplification, and platform enhancements.
- Support the Salesforce migration and broader platform transformation initiatives, with a focus on pricing, quoting, contract-to-cash, invoicing, and reporting processes.
- Drive automation across sales and revenue operations through Flow-based solutions and process optimization initiatives.
- Establish and promote Salesforce development standards, coding best practices, governance frameworks, and architectural principles.
- Participate in code reviews, solution reviews, and design discussions to maintain high-quality delivery standards.
- Build internal Salesforce engineering expertise and reduce dependency on external vendors through documentation, knowledge transfer, and capability development.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders, administrators, architects, and external partners to deliver effective and sustainable solutions.
- Evaluate and adopt emerging Salesforce technologies, including Salesforce AI, Agent force, and other platform innovations, to support ongoing modernization and business growth initiatives.
Experience & Qualifications
- 6 to 8 years of Salesforce development experience.
- Strong understanding of Salesforce development standards, security, release management, and deployment practices
- Strong communication, documentation, troubleshooting, and collaboration skills.
- Strong hands-on expertise in Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC), SOQL/SOSL, REST API, Jitterbit and Integrations, Triggers, Batch Visualforce
- Experience designing, developing, testing, and deploying scalable Salesforce solutions.
- Knowledge of Salesforce governor limits, coding best practices, data mapping, integration mechanics, and release processes.
- Experience with CI/CD tools such as Copado or Jenkins and Agile/Scrum methodologies.
- Experience supporting enterprise Salesforce environments and resolving production issues.
