Position Summary
The Salesforce Developer works directly with the Salesforce Business Analyst to implement new and existing business processes that lend themselves to a Salesforce solution. They are responsible for evaluating User Stories and identifying the best way to implement the business needs within the Salesforce platform, through configuration, declarative development, and custom code. The Salesforce Developer uses their experience and Salesforce knowledge to recommend the best practice solutions, with a preference for out of the box Salesforce features, but capable of custom code development when that approach is necessary. The Salesforce Developer is also responsible for the development, testing, and implementation of the custom code solution. They should be able to translate User Stories into Automated Tests that are able to validate business needs. The Salesforce Developer will support and collaborate with the larger Salesforce Team on Salesforce initiatives and projects.
Job Description
Key Outcomes:
- Meets with Business Analyst to implement User Stories for small to medium sized projects
- Responsible for providing feedback on User Stories and helping to evaluate implementation approaches (i.e. if the solution may be implemented via Configuration, Declarative Development such as Workflows, or through custom code)
- Performs advanced Salesforce Configuration i.e. modifying the object model, Record Types, creating new Apps, complex formula fields and validation rules
- Processes automation through workflow rules, processes, and flows
- Writes and edits Apex code for custom controllers, triggers, classes (including tests, batchable and schedulable classes).
- Writes and edits Visualforce
- Utilizes CSS to control look and feel of a page (with the aid of a company style guide)
- Writes and edits JavaScript, as well as utilizing JavaScript libraries such as jQuery
- Participates with the larger Salesforce team in project design, testing, and implementation of Salesforce enhancements and solutions
- Utilizes Apex Data Loader for bulk CRUD operations
- Responsible for documenting any pre and post-deployment activities that are required for the solutions they built
- Executes Salesforce deployments through both Changes Sets as well as Ant
Education/Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience, required
- 4+ years’ experience developing on the Salesforce Platform through both declarative development as well as custom code, required
- Participation and completion of badges in Trailhead, required
- Experience using Apex Data Loader, required
- Experience using JavaScript and CSS on the Salesforce platform, required
- Experience deploying Salesforce changes via both Change Sets and Ant, required
- Experience with Salesforce in the capacity of an Admin and/or Analyst, a plus
- Experience with an Agile methodology, a plus
- Participation in Salesforce User Groups and/or Conferences, a plus
- Experience with Person Accounts, a plus
Required License(s) and/or Certification(s):
- Salesforce Certification(s), particularly Platform Developer 1, required but can be completed post hire
Requirement:
