The Role

Finch is looking for a Head of Partnerships to shape and own business development efforts, establish strategic employment system partnerships, and unlock revenue potential via channel partnerships. You'll be a primary driver of Finch's mission to build a collaborative employment data ecosystem by developing deep relationships with employment systems. You'll also have the opportunity to create revenue-generating partnerships across various verticals to expand Finch's reach. This role requires close cross-functional engagement across the team and provides you visibility into key initiatives as we scale.

What You Will Do

  • Develop repeatable and scalable business development processes and strategies
  • Establish trust with key external stakeholders
  • Collaborate closely with the marketing and product functions at Finch
  • Own the partnerships team build-out
  • Monitor industry trends and evaluate strategic and expansion opportunities
  • Spend 70% of your time dedicated to forging strategic partnerships with employment systems
  • Spend 30% of your time exploring distribution partnerships with other infrastructure platforms and vertical-specific applications
  • Attend industry conferences, dinners, and events to expand your network

Who You Are

  • 7+ years of business development or strategic sales management experience in a fast-paced environment, preferably at a B2B SaaS or fintech company
  • Extensive knowledge of partnerships principles and practices, and an ability to coach others on them
  • Demonstrable track record of forging high impact partnerships
  • Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams
  • Articulate, clear, and concise written and spoken communication

What’s the vibe like in the office?

Our SF office is compact, dynamic, and located in FIDI near Montgomery Bart. We have plenty of natural light, tasty snacks, and 8-10 team members that come in twice a week. But the real excitement comes from our new SOCIAL CALENDAR, with monthly events like trendy happy hours and fun offsites. We're a team that works hard and plays hard! :)

What projects are you most excited about?

In engineering, work is very open-ended; it requires creative solutions. I don't always have a roadmap for the product so I have to dig and consider edge cases. The challenge is how you scope it down and identify the needs of the customer and then figure out how that all fits together. It’s the hard part but also the fun part.

How do you make yourself accessible to the rest of the team?

Visibility and accessibility are crucial in a remote-first culture. We have a virtual office in Gather where team members can walk by my desk and strike up a conversation, we use an "urgent" slack channel filled with high priority requests that is reviewed daily, and I set aside time every evening to tie up threads others have looped me in on.

What's the biggest problem your team is solving?

The Experience team is new and focuses on improving touchpoints with our users. We recently updated how employer connections are shown on the developer dashboard. We're also working on improving the signup and onboarding process by creating easy-to-use sandboxes so that our prospects and users can try the new and existing features of the Finch API
