What you'll do
- You will sell chromatography modelling software to scientists and engineers within the biopharmaceutical industry, evangelizing simulation technology and building trust in the computer aided process development.
- You will be the point of contact for your customers, facilitating a smooth and quick journey through their buying process from introduction through to transforming their process development activities. You will manage stakeholder needs, from IT, procurement, users/scientists, and executives, and will be writing proposals, quotes and forming a business case with your customers.
- You will be promoting a highly innovative, deep tech software product which is disrupting traditional workflows, through explaining the approach in an intuitive manner to those unfamiliar with modeling fundamentals. Successfully carrying out software live demonstrations, technical explanations and evangelizing the benefits of mechanistic modeling to new customers will be critical for your success.
- The growth expectations are significant, and this role is vital to provide the best possible technical support to our customers and thereby win deals and grow the business.
- You will be our eyes and ears at the customer, distributing customer's feedback and learnings into our organization. You will work closely with our US-based commercial colleagues as well as the global GoSilico sales team.
- You will be tenacious in your approach to improving the workflows of our customers and seeking new opportunities for expansion.
Who you are
- Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering, biochemical engineering, or related field with at least 6 years professional experience in the Biopharma industry with focus on preparative chromatography, or Master's degree with at least 4 years professional experience, or a PhD with at least 2 years professional experience.
- Exceptional knowledge and understanding of downstream process development in pharmaceutical industry including regulatory requirements, with hands-on experience in preparative chromatography.
- You have an affinity for novel technologies and approaches to improve process efficiency and understanding, backed up by strong technical acumen.
- There is no need to be a gifted mathematician, though you should be able to explain complex concepts in a clear and inspirational manner, relying on the expertise of your colleagues where necessary.
- Previous B2B software sales experience is a big plus, but not mandatory. If you are new to sales, you must be keen to master a steep sales learning curve and enjoy continually building your capabilities.
- Team player, and networking skills with good abilities to cooperate and communicate with peers and customers. Ability to operate effectively in a multi-tasking, dynamic environment, juggling many activities while maintaining a forward-thinking and customer-first attitude.
- Willingness to travel on a regular basis (up to 60% or more) in North America and occasionally (around 4 times per year) globally (in particular GoSilico's site in Germany) for trainings, to align our sales activities and for a personal exchange with our marketing, sales, service, and R&D teams.
- Some experience coupled with a strong understanding of modeling techniques for bioprocessing, ideally mechanistic modelling. Knowledge of simulating adsorption and transport phenomena is expected.
