Job Description
In this role you will be responsible for business development within Applied Technology with responsibility for supporting and driving business with the Air Force and DOD. You will promote and maintain strong business relationships with customers and strive to leverage existing business and create new market possibilities.
As part of the Business Development field team, you will provide technical support to Applied Technology customers, demonstrate Applied Technology capabilities to current and potential customers, interpret customer requirements and relay them to AT product and development teams to ensure AT products are competitive and exceeding customer expectations and, you will support O&M contracts. In this capacity, you will be in a key customer facing role that directly impacts customer satisfaction, business development and AT’s reputation in the industry. You will work collaboratively across the organization including with: Business Development, Go to Market, Development Engineering, Early Capture, Marketing and Sr Management. Specific responsibilities include the following:
Demonstrate Applied Technology products to new and existing customers explaining feature advantages, comparisons to other products, etc.
Participate in developing product concepts that support evolving customer requirements and collaborate with Product and Engineering teams to ensure requirements are understood and defined appropriately.
Grow the Applied Technology business by providing product information and technical support to facilitate business capture for Applied Technology and Go To Market products specifically.
Understand customer requirements and potential impacts for AT products. Drive these changes with the development teams
Identify and drive features and product offerings to ensure AT competitiveness in the market
Management of the business development process, with special attention given to new opportunity identification, screening, forecasting, qualifying, pursuit, and capture.
Maintain a thorough working knowledge of AT’s products and programs and leverage this to drive business development opportunities
Review feature and product implementation strategies with Engineering during development providing feedback to ensure a superior user experience
Provide voice of the customer feedback to influence product and portfolio roadmaps to ensure AT’s competitiveness in the market
Participate in internal product testing to ensure features and products are ready for customer release
Perform product training (paid and unpaid) to AT’s customer base
Support trade shows, technical experiments and customer industry days by showcasing AT products and presenting AT’s advantages.
Familiarity and experience with DoD SIGINT/EW/ELINT/Secure COMMS product requirements and offerings
Familiarity and experience with DoD acquisition processes, funding cycles, requirements initiation and vetting, and UFR process all highly desired
Experience working within the Department of Defense, Military branches or other Federal Government Customers
Expertise in SIGINT requirements and sustainment process.
Previous operator qualification within DoD ISR enterprise highly desired
Experience with airborne and ground-based SIGINT systems to include platforms, missions, tactics, and USG guidance.
Must have excellent analytical and critical thinking skills and be able to manage multiple competing priorities in short turn-around situations.
Must have exceptional interpersonal skills and be comfortable interacting with individuals and diverse groups of people in business and social settings.
Possess strong verbal and written communications and ability to build professional working relationships.
Must be technically savvy and have the ability to match company capabilities with customer requirements
Must possess a strong working knowledge of Applied Technologies products how they work and how they are used in the field.
Maintain a working knowledge of AT’s products and programs
Maintain a working knowledge of the competitive offering and how our products compare
Must have system engineering knowledge and be able to configure AT solutions including with third party components and in customers vehicles/air platforms/etc
Be able to travel on a regular basis (5-10 days/month)
Basic Requirements
Bachelor’s degree with 10+ years experience and must have substantial knowledge of the U.S. defense industry as well as its logistics and sustainment leadership structure and personnel (military and civilian).
Must be a U.S. citizen with ability to obtain necessary security clearance as required by government contract. Some contracts may have higher-level clearance requirements.
