Area Vice President, Sales (West)
Freshworks is seeking an Area Vice President of Sales to lead the Western U.S. for our mid-market and enterprise segments. This is a great opportunity for right leader to scale our growing sales organization and make a large impact on our already fast moving company which is #10 on the 2021 Forbes Cloud 100. The ideal candidate will be a strategic, innovative, and experienced sales leader with strong operational skills who knows how to build and manage sales teams that deliver results. The leader will run a 30-40 person sales organization and report directly to the President of North America. We are looking for someone that can also add to a great sales culture that is inclusive and someone interested mentoring the team's professional development.
Role & Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership, development and execution support to surpass revenue targets
- Develop and implement best practices to maximize pipeline creation, customer conversion rates, forecasting accuracy, and cross-functional collaboration
- Collaborate with Marketing, Partners, Solutions Engineering, and Business Development to accelerate sales cycles, generate new sales opportunities that drive revenue through multiple channels
- Foster a culture of progressive personal development and mentoring of the upmarket segment Sales teams
- Operational excellence in the day-to-day management of the business, including, but not limited to forecasting, pipeline development, training, hiring, performance management, collaboration, teamwork, and best practice sharing
- Initiate, develop and maintain executive level relationships and drive sales activities with key customers
- Assist and coach sales leaders and their teams in all phases of the selling process to achieve agreed-upon targets and performance metrics
- Understand target customers business needs, develop proposals and accurately articulate Freshworks' value proposition at the executive level
- Assist and close complex transactions and be willing to get into the trenches with the team
Skills & Experience:
- 15+ years of software sales experience, and 5+ years of sales leadership as VP/RVP leading multiple sales teams with a scale of 30-40 sales individual contributors
- History of overachieving targets in a SaaS, market-leading technology
- Proven success scaling out multiple sales team with success selling SaaS and cloud solutions in the industry (preferably in CRM and Customer Service)
- Track record of stability and tenure in multiple organizations
- Demonstrated ability to continuously increase effectiveness of team, recognizing opportunities for creating new systems, structures, and processes
- Strong knowledge of CRM reporting and dashboards and process oriented
- Demonstrated experience building a collaborative environment between sales, marketing, product and finance
- Strong executive presence - experience and comfort level working with C-level executives
- Bachelor's Degree required; MBA preferred
