Job Summary
Responsible for delivering and continuously improving training programs for newly hired Account Managers within the construction materials industry. Facilitates in-person training sessions, enhances existing curriculum, and ensures participants gain foundational sales skills and construction product knowledge needed to succeed in their roles.
Major Tasks, Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities
Delivers instructor-led training programs in a classroom setting for newly hired Account Managers. Sessions are typically conducted twice per month at a dedicated training facility.
Participates in the ongoing development and refinement of training curriculum to ensure alignment with business needs, sales strategies, and product knowledge requirements.
Designs and utilizes effective learning components to support knowledge retention and skill application, including hands-on product demonstrations and interactive exercises.
Communicates industry best practices related to construction supply sales, including customer engagement, relationship building, and consultative selling techniques.
Delivers training on construction-related products, ensuring participants develop a strong foundational understanding of product applications and value propositions.
Demonstrates strong presentation and facilitation skills, confidently leading sessions and engaging diverse audiences with varying levels of experience.
Supports program delivery strategy and execution, ensuring a consistent, high-quality learning experience for all participants.
Nature and Scope
Identifies key barriers/core problems and applies problem solving skills in order to deal creatively with complex situations. Troubleshoots and resolves complex problems. Makes decisions under conditions of uncertainty, sometimes with incomplete information, that produce effective end results.
Independently performs assignments with instruction limited to the expected results. Determines and develops an approach to solutions. Receives technical guidance only on unusual or complex problems or issues.
May oversee the completion of projects and assignments, including planning, assigning, monitoring and reviewing progress and accuracy of work, evaluating results, etc. Contributes to employees' professional development but does not have hiring or firing authority.
Work Environment
Located in a comfortable indoor area. Conditions could produce mild discomfort on occasion.
Most of the time is spent sitting in the same position or standing/walking and/or there is some requirement to lift or handle material or equipment of moderate weight (8-20 pounds).
Typically requires overnight travel more than 50% of the time.
Education and Experience
Typically requires BS/BA in a related discipline. Generally 5-8 years of experience in a related field OR MS/MA and generally 3-5 years of experience in a related field. Certification is required in some areas.
Preferred Qualifications
3 - 5 years of experience in construction industry supply sales or a closely related field.
Demonstrated ability to present and facilitate training in a classroom or group setting.
Strong knowledge of construction materials, applications, and industry practices.
Demonstrated experience with adult learning principles and curriculum design to include classroom and blended solutions, and ADDIE process (Assess, Design, Develop, Implement, Evaluate).
Experience with Oracle systems is preferred but not required.
Experience in hybrid work environment, with a strong emphasis on in-person training delivery.
