JOB SUMMARY

The Sales Trainer is responsible for managing the onboarding and continuous training of regional sales managers. This includes an RSM’s first 90 days at the company as well as identifying, coordinating, and executing various training initiatives for the RSM team in conjunction with sales leadership.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collaborate with sales leadership and cross-functional teams to strategize and execute sales training initiatives, including new hire onboarding and training, sales capabilities enhancement and tools training.
  • Design and implement effective sales onboarding content and delivery methods to expedite the learning curve for regional sales managers (RSMs), while establishing metrics to measure the success of onboarding and other training programs.
  • Ensure the continuous improvement of sales skills, knowledge, and readiness across the sales organization.
  • Provide dedicated support for the development of new RSM hires and the promotion of territory sales managers (TSMs) within the organization, serving as the primary resource for new RSM hires and TSM promotions.
  • With the corporate learning team schedule the initial onboarding activities and communicate expectations with new hires, both virtually and for in-person training.
  • Develop a comprehensive 30-60-90-day plan to evaluate the success of initial onboarding. Establish accountability measures for new employees through the creation of checklists and milestone achievements.
  • Select, organize, and distribute training materials, including case studies, cheat sheets, and customer documents to facilitate comprehension and proficiency.
  • Participate in the final interview process for RSM candidates to tailor onboarding curriculum based on individual personality and learning styles, while ensuring alignment with program structure.
  • Collaborate with sales directors and vice president of global sales to align training initiatives with sales objectives and leadership expectations.
  • Liaise with other departments (ie Category Managers, GAT, PD, Marketing) to ensure new hires understand their capabilities and relationships within the organization.
  • Work closely with the inside sales team on AE and PSR sales curriculum training to ensure common foundation and language.
  • Conduct field evaluations alongside RSMs and TSMs to assess progress and report findings to relevant sales leadership, providing actionable insights through scorecards and reviews.
  • Facilitate training evaluations to bridge the gap between field work and product/process knowledge required for daily operations.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, new product launches, and competitive landscape to adapt onboarding program accordingly.
  • Serve as a resource for directors to coach and manage employees on career development and advancement opportunities.
  • Coordinate ongoing training requirements for RSMs and TSMs (ie Geopointe, iPad support) and participate in check-in calls with directors to evaluate program success and identify areas for improvement.
  • Facilitate training evaluations to bridge the gap between field work and product/processes knowledge required for daily operations.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, new product launches, and competitive landscape to adapt onboarding program accordingly.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Desire and ability to work in fast-paced environment and be part of a high performance team
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to work efficiently without daily supervision
  • Ability to communicate clearly and collaboratively
  • Process driven and ability to manage customer expectations through the HexArmor solutions process
  • Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel
  • Experience using sales technology – SFDC, Tableau, Geopointe, etc.
  • Passion for training and development

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 5+ years of outside/field sales; experience

COMPENSATION 

  • Base plus company bonus
