In essence, your role involves:
- Work alongside and rotate among ACT’s North American renewable fuels, electricity and emissions teams
- Gain exposure to environmental commodity markets, including Renewable Electricity Credits (RECs), Renewable Fuel Credits (RINs, LCFS, RTCs) and carbon credits
- Deliver value through ad-hoc market-focused or market-adjacent projects, under the direction of ACT’s sales and trading teams
- Create value by developing and presenting an Intern Project related to environmental commodity markets, innovative products or strategies, novel analysis, etc.
- Participate in team building events with the Intern class and ACT front and back-office staff
To be successful in this role, we are looking for candidates with the following qualifications and attributes:
- An undergraduate currently pursuing a degree in engineering, economics, business or sustainability with an expected graduation date of December 2027 - June 2028
- A student of the markets, preferably with demonstrated interest in electricity and fuels markets and the environmental attributes associated with them.
- A natural collaborator who works well with others, whether under direction, in support of or alongside more senior employees
- A creative yet critical thinker with strong analytical skills who can articulate thoughts and ideas clearly
- An expert in MS Office Suite, with, ideally, some familiarity with Python, Power Automate or other analytical tools.
Please note: this role is 100% in-office in New York City
The pay range for this position is $30-40 per hour; actual base pay may vary based on various factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, level and experience. The base pay is just one component of the total competitive compensation package for employees.
